In Enslaved, author Gordon Thomas reported that: "At the start of the year [1991] Britain's Scotland Yard was continuing to investigate reports that up to twenty children in London had been murdered last year in [snuff films] and the video tapes sold on the Continent." Journalist Nick Davies, writing for the Guardian in November 2000, revisited that investigation, which was centered on a group of British pedophiles living in Amsterdam. The investigation revealed that the men were running gay brothels that were essentially 'fronts' for trafficking underage boys, many purchased from the streets of economically ravaged Eastern Europe, and others collected from the streets of London. Prominent among the group of pedophiles were a man named Alan Williams, known as the "Welsh Witch," and another named Warwick Spinks, who according to Davies, "pioneered the trafficking of boys as young as 10."

The men used the boys in the production of child pornography and, according to several witnesses, in the production of snuff films. Davies wrote: "not just once but repeatedly, evidence had come to the attention of police in England and the Netherlands, that, for pleasure and profit, some of the exiled paedophiles in Amsterdam had murdered boys in front of the camera." Indeed, witnesses had independently given descriptions of snuff films that were remarkably consistent in the details of the types of torture used and the manner of death, though the descriptions of the victim and the filming location differed, indicating that a number of such films had been made. One witness claimed to have seen five such films.
In the fall of 1998, British detectives flew to Amsterdam to investigate a particularly detailed account provided by a witness. The investigators had in their possession: a detailed description of the apartment where the witness had viewed the tape; the name of the owner of the apartment and videotape; the name of the man who committed the murder; a detailed description of events on the tape; and the first name and approximate age of the victim. With all that in hand, says Davies, the detectives "hit a wall." Dutch police "said it was not enough" to warrant launching any sort of an investigation. By that time, investigators had been hearing accounts of the snuff films for nearly eight years. At one point, they had recruited an undercover officer "to pose as a child abuser and befriend Warwick Spinks." who acknowledged to the officer that he was actively involved in trafficking boys. He also revealed that he knew "some people who were involved in making snuff movies and how they did it was, they only sold them in limited editions, made 10 copies or something, 10 very rich customers in America, who paid $5,000 each or something like that." There is no indication that any thorough investigation was ever conducted, or that any arrests were ever made.
In September 2002, the Chicago Sun Times carried a brief report of two brothers who were arrested and charged with possessing an enormous collection of child pornography. Seized from the brothers were 5,000 photographic images, along with about 100 videotapes and 8mm films. Among this evidence were images of "young girls apparently tortured, raped and killed." The American media has shown no inclination to shine any additional light on the case.
An account of the recent Italian case carried by the Guardian affirmed the existence of snuff films: "Police have discovered a massive international paedophile network selling violent child-pornography videos to clients in Italy, the US and Germany . (authorities are) trying to identify 5,000 people who are suspected of attempting to purchase the videos, some of which appear to contain images of children being tortured and murdered." The UK's Independent, in a follow-up published in November 2000, also confirmed that the seized materials included child snuff films: "Horrified investigators gathered images of more than 2,000 children who were filmed while being abused, raped, and . killed." By that time, close to 1,500 people had been charged in the case, but not - as the Guardian noted - "those in high places who are believed to form a 'paedophile lobby.'"
As in the Belgian, Latvian, and Portuguese cases, there were indications in the Italian case of high-level complicity and a strong belief among the people that the facts of the case were being covered up. And as with the other cases, the Independent reported that the magistrate heading up the inquiry "provoked a furore by denouncing a 'paedophile lobby' supported by politicians which he said openly obstructed the investigators and worked to prevent tougher sanctions for the consumers of child pornography." The New York Times reported in March 1997 that there is "growing public indignation in France and elsewhere about the recurrent reports of kidnapping, rape or incest involving the very young." The same Times report revealed that French police had "detained more than 250 people and confiscated some 5,000 videocassettes" in conjunction with an investigation into a massive child pornography ring. Those detained by police were described as "mainly married professionals." A dozen of them soon turned up dead, allegedly by their own hand.
The BBC filed a brief report on a 1996 case that was otherwise almost completely ignored by the English-language press: "Mexican police broke up an international child pornography ring based in the resort of Acapulco which they said had at least four thousand clients in the United States," (emphasis added). A UN envoy investigating the case said that the "child pornography sometimes involved babies of less than one month old."
In June 1997, the News Telegraph spoke of over 800 French homes being raided and 204 suspects being taken into custody. Among those detained were "more than 30 teachers . and a number of priests," as well as the deputy mayor of the town of Saint Mihiel. By the end of the week, four had committed suicide, including a school headmaster. Three years later, the BBC filed a very brief report noting that a verdict was due "in the trial of more than sixty people accused of possessing child pornography. One of the judges hearing the case said examining the video evidence made him feel physically sick." In a familiar refrain, it was reported that: "the French courts have been accused of attacking the easy targets -- porn consumers -- rather than producers and distributors. And one children's rights group has alleged that senior public figures were among those investigated -- but their cases were dropped before coming to court."

Warwick Spinks is originally from London. Genuine visionary in matters of pedophile criminality, he began his career with a mail order pornography business from Brighton at the age of 17. He then moved to Holland from where he focused on importing children from Eastern Europe. He learns languages very easily and speaks at least French, German, Dutch, Afrikaans, Polish, Czech and English with whatever accent and be confused with a local wherever he goes. Very clever, he turned a grotty brothel controlled by the Dutch mafia into such a success, that the organization couldn’t refuse him any favor.

He was 25 when he earned enough money to buy the Gay Palace of Amsterdam. From 1990, he was selling videos, presumably snuff movies, as they would cost 6000 euros each. His friends Norbert De Rijck and De Souza were running the Temse network (Belgium-Holland-Portugal), with organized holidays including filmed child abuse in Madeira. Warwick was then paying trips to Robert Van Der Naaten, who would smuggle children from Madeira to the Dutch brothels, but he was not sentenced, oppositely as the three others.

As Marcel Vervloesem brought the Zandvoort to the Belgian, French and Dutch justices, Warwick and his friend Edward were arrested in Hoordorp, in the framework on an inquiry concerning filmed rapes, tortures and murders of at least 5 children.
He was then suspected to have a part in the Manuel Schadwald case, because he was of the band he had contact with the Stasi, employer of the missing child's father step: Rainer Wolf who himself now owes a sadomasochist club in Berlin. He also was close to Lothar Glandorf, another of those high rank criminals and in whose brothel Manuel was seen. Furthermore, Spinks will talk of a boy murdered in a Dutch snuff movie who, according to his friend Franck, was nicknamed "Manny" and fitted the description of Manuel.
Warwick Spinks left Holland for England and lived in Hastings, when he was finally charged for abducting and raping two street boys from London and selling one of them to a Dutch brothel. He was jailed for five years and as freed on parole, he flew away, presumably helped by the Dutch mafia, which still won’t refuse him anything.
In 2004, Warwick Spinks was an extremely rich man. He had built "businesses" and bought properties in South Africa, Namibia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, France and England. An international warrant for his arrest was set in the framework of the kidnapping of a 4 years old child. He lives in the Czech Republic, in one of his numerous properties, earned with child trafficking. He changes appearances, sometimes skinny, sometimes fat, and thanks to his language facilities, melts in the picture.

In Temse, cafe Monty appears to have now closed, but the cafe was infamous. It was regularly visited by a group of friends, including Andre Landinois, his friend Bruno Farice, Dirk Tahon (the owner of the cafe), Robert van der Naaten and Norbert de Rijck.

All these video cassettes came in white boxes with a photo on them. He (Dirk Tahon) couldn't really see what was in those photos. The films were not played in the café, but on the floor above. Marion de Boom had told him that those films were often watched on that top floor.

1997 - Dutch journalists dig out a history of sightings of Manuel Schadwald which suggests he had been put to work in a brothel in Rotterdam, run by a German, Lothar Glandorf, now 36. After ignoring complaints for 18 months, Rotterdam police targeted him and found he had been selling hundreds of boys. Of those they could trace, nearly half were under 16.

The so-called Rolodex investigation was launched in 1998 after the Amsterdam police received information that high-ranking officials were having sex with underage boy prostitutes. The investigation focused on two locations: Karel Maasdam's boy brothel in Amsterdam and the apartment of a professor (Ger van Roon) who regularly ordered boys. Despite the fact that the Rolodex investigation was conducted in the utmost secrecy, the suspects knew of its existence within a few days. The investigation was therefore stopped, to the frustration of members of the police team.]

Is this Manuel Schadwald?
It appears that before his disappearance, Manuel Schadwald was seen two or three times at the Bahnhoff Zoo in Berlin, a place where boys engage in prostitution.

In Germany a former liaison officer between the KGB and Stasi named Wanja Götz stated in an affidavit Manuel Schadwald's step-father had been a former Stasi agent named Rainer Wolf. The step-father had been known to frequent a club owned by Lothar Glandorf in Berlin called Pinocchio Bar, and the theory was Manuel Schadwald had never been kidnapped, but rather sold to Glandorf by his step father. Which would fit with Robbie Van Der Planken's use of the word 'escort' in his admission he and Glandorf had taken the boy to Rotterdam. A German politician named Bernd Schmidbauer who had coordinated German intelligence services during the 1990s stated there had been indications of a link between a Stasi blackmail operation and Marc Dutroux.

One such magazine is Thai Lolitas, published by the San Remo Press in Munich and distributed by one of the world's largest adult pornography dealerships, ZBF Vertrieb (based at Schierstein, West Germany, with an annual turnover exceeding £30 million). Thai Lolitas carries explicit hard-core photo-sets of pubescent Thai girls (juvenile prostitutes, according to the magazine's text) having sex with European or American men. The girls are probably above the Thai age of consent but almost certainly below the average European limit of fifteen. Yet the magazine is freely available in sex shops throughout Europe, and is offered for international trans-shipment by a variety of Dutch and Danish mail-order companies.
One fact, however, is beyond question: in 1986, despite official Dutch denials, Amsterdam was undoubtedly a major distribution point for child pornography. Nor was this unusual. The history of the commercial child-pornography industry is inextricably bound up in the legislative history of two European nations - Holland and Denmark.
Strandlodsvej 61 is home to a web of companies known collectively as Rodox Trading. One constituent company is the Color Climax Corporation. Between 1971 and 1979 it was responsible for a major proportion of all the commercial child pornography ever made.
We are now one of the world's largest Super-8 film laboratories and can easily produce between 3,500 and 4,000 copies daily (approximately 200,000 metres) - on a yearly basis more than one million copies. Today we have the benefit of the most modern machinery that money can buy - seven optical machines and four double-spool developing tanks which naturally facilitate continual operation.
A large part of the system is controlled electronically, but ultimately we rely on the skill and attention of thirty-four specialist operators to maintain, and indeed better, our very high quality standards. This has of course cost an unbelievable amount of money, but increasing sales have shown that to invest in quality pays high dividends... This will no doubt encourage an even greater number of satisfied customers.
The importance of Holland as a warehouse for child pornography is impossible to overstate, and the era of commercial Dutch dealing in child pornography will be examined in Chapter Three. But Holland also boasted its own child-pornography producers in the early 1970s; chief amongst them was Joop Wilhelmus. Born on 7 January 1943, Wilhelmus was to become one of the most notorious producers of commercial child pornography and eventually, at least - a distinct embarrassment to Dutch police. Wilhelmus, also known as Wilhelrus and occasionally - as Jomannus Cornelius Christaan is responsible for the most widely traded of all child-pornography magazines - Lolita. Like the Theander brothers' 'Lolita' film series, Wilhelmus's Lolita magazine became almost a universal brand name for child- pornography photographs. (He is also believed to have been responsible for a long-running and particularly unpleasant 'sister' magazine, Incest.) There are no publication dates given on copies of Lolita magazines, but educated guesses place its first appearance in or around 1970 in Dordrecht, near Rotterdam. The magazine, which was to reach issue 55 before it ceased publication in 1985, was A5 format with a colour cover photograph of a naked child - generally no more than five years old. Inside there would typically be a mixture of Victorian and modern photographs of toddlers and pre-pubescent children either displaying their genitals or being sexually abused. By 1972 Wilhelmus had acquired a criminal record for taking indecent photographs of children, but the majority of his material came from paedophiles who had photographed their victims. Lolita frequently included editorial pleas for new child pornography to publish: 'This magazine can only exist if you help us! Send us photos from your collection. 'We desperately need more photos from private files... Those requests amounted to an incitement by Wilhelmus for the magazine's readers to abuse more children and mail him the evidence. Typically, abusers would receive either cash or future issues of the magazine in return for their photographs. Lolita also provided a contact service for its readers, enabling them to advertise both for child pornography and for new children to abuse.

Dutch law, at the time, was strict: pornography was illegal, with no distinction being made between adult and child pornography. But in 1973 the government had proposed liberalisation, restricting the obscenity statutes to the protection of children and controlling the public display of pornography. The proposal was quickly shelved and Dutch law remained unreformed and unrelentingly opposed to pornography. That was the theory. The practice was the precise opposite.
Throughout the 1970s all forms of pornography were freely available in Amsterdam and to some extent - in other Dutch cities. In 1979, after another leg of its fact-finding mission, the British Williams Committee reported: The most important provision relating to obscene publications is Article 240 of the Dutch Penal Code, which makes it an offence to produce, distribute, import, export, transport or display publicly any writing picture or object which offends decency... The penalties provided by Article 240 allow the offender to be imprisoned for up to a year or to be fined up to 6,000 guilders. Confiscation of the obscene articles is provided in addition.
The statute should have made Holland a porn-free zone. Instead, not only was Holland the wholesale, retail and mail- order centre of the child-pornography trade, but Joop Wilhelmus was left free to produce and publish Lolita. It took the Dutch authorities until 1987 effectively to close the magazine by charging him with unlawfully procuring young boys for sex. But the uncomfortable truth remains that they allowed him to publish for seventeen years: he even continued uninterrupted after being declared bankrupt in 1985. In May 1987 Wilhelmus skipped the Dutch equivalent of bail to avoid facing the procuring charge. He is still missing, and to this day US Customs field agents in Europe pick up persistent rumours of a new issue of Lolita being in production either in Belgium or West Germany. If Lolita nr. 56 exists it has yet to be seized by any law-enforcement specialists.
Mail-order businesses like MVI Club, claiming to be the cheapest supplier of hard-core pornography in Europe.
In August 1980 PIE (Paedophile Information Exchange) circulated an Open Letter among every known paedophile group in Europe, Scandinavia and North America, and also to prominent individuals such as Dr Edward Brongersma, Dr Frits Bernard, Theo Sandfort and Valida Davila of the Childhood Sensuality Circle. The letter outlined an ambitious, some would say grandiose, proposal for a new transnational paedophile federation through which member groups would collaborate on material projects and share resources at the same time as working towards a common philosophical platform.

That advert was published in a magazine called Boy Love World in April 1986. BLW, based in Maastricht, Holland, was one arm of the loose alliance Steven Smith had called for in 1980. BLW and its linked magazines - Paedo Alert News, Ganymede International and Boys' World-contained a mixture of (non-obscene) photographs of young boys illustrating paedophilic texts and stories, letters and adverts for child pornography. Many of its publishers were ex-PIE members using an ever-shifting web of aliases. Many of them had already been convicted of the sexual abuse of children. The magazines were produced 'for boy-LOVERS, and BOY-lovers -by BOY-LOVERS', and regularly solicited photographs in an uncomfortable echo of Joop Wilhelmus's Lolita magazine. Two of the men behind the magazines are particularly interesting. Frank Torey is the pseudonym of an American paedophile and child molester who fled to Holland when facing charges of sexually exploiting under-age boys. There is still a US warrant out for his arrest. Torey has been listed as a contributor and editor of a variety of the new Dutch magazines like BLW. Curiously, the Dutch government has not managed to locate him.
The April 1986 issue of BLW contained a glowing tribute to Frank Torey for his advice and support'. The editor of that issue was listed as Martyn Simons. Simons had previously edited PAN magazine using the name Roger E. Hunt. Neither was his real name. Simons, aka Hunt, was born Roger Lawrence on 25 February 1946. By 1972 he had begun working for a local council in England as a youth officer, with access to children. He had also been convicted of an indecent assault on a fourteen-year-old boy. He fled to Holland in the early 1980s when the Metropolitan Police first turned their attention to PIE, and joined another paedophile organisation called Spartacus - of which more shortly. He left Spartacus in January 1986 after a row with the organisation's leader, John Stamford. He went on to edit PAN and BLW. Just over a year later he met up with a Swiss paedophile named Beat Meier; together the two men packed a car and, on 24 January, drove it on to the midday Ostend-to-Dover ferry. As the car drove off the ferry and up to an immigration checkpoint officer, Mike Staunton of the Dover Harbour Board, police stepped forward and asked to see Meier's papers. Meier handed over his Swiss passport and Lawrence his British one, but Staunton noticed something in the back of the car, covered by a blanket. He asked Meier to show him. Dimitri Thevenin owes a great deal to Officer Staunton. In the six months prior to his discovery under the blanket on the back seat of Meier's car, Dimitri had been first kidnapped from his home in Paris, then hidden in a flat in Zurich before being shunted around Europe to avoid pursuit by a series of Continental police forces. Dimitri Thevenin was just three years old. Meier tried to bluff it out. He showed Staunton documents purporting to give him custody of the boy. But Staunton remained suspicious. And when he checked all the documents, not only did they reveal Dimitri's 'adoption' to be bogus, but that Lawrence had a criminal record for child sexual abuse. And then there were Meier's own papers. Staunton's checks showed that the Swiss was wanted not only in his home country, but in France, Holland and England for sexual offences against children. The English charge sheet reveals that he had buggered and assaulted a young boy in the Huddersfield area. Staunton ordered a search of Meier's car. In it he found a treasure trove of child-pornography videos and magazines. This was not altogether surprising: Meier had been editor of Libido, a particularly nasty Zurich-based child-sex magazine. The Huddersfield charges revealed the Swiss to have continued making and distributing child pornography. In January 1988 Leeds Crown Court was told how Meier had abused three thirteen-year-old boys and taken photographs of that abuse. He had followed the classic paedophile pattern of befriending their parents and, just like Duncan before him, had persuaded them to agree to the boys going on holidays with him. Meier was jailed for eighteen months after admitting five charges of indecent assault and gross indecency, and one of taking indecent photographs. The sentence was the minimum possible: Judge Raymond Dean QC explained that Meier would be deported to Switzerland as soon as possible. Police in Zurich had already taken out a warrant for his arrest for alleged offences against twelve boys and one baby. Dimitri Thevenin was reunited with his mother after seven months away from home. Paris police were delighted with the results of Staunton's work: 'This affair is part of a huge ring of paedophiles covering several continents,' said Commissaire Nicole Tricart. The men in this racket travel widely and we fear our inquiries will take a long time.' But those enquiries failed to encompass Roger Lawrence. Although the British paedophile was in the car where Dimitri was found, and although he had a previous conviction for child sexual abuse, Lawrence was allowed to go free. No evidence has been brought to show that he knew Dimitri had been kidnapped, though privately Scotland Yard officers are angry that he had not been sufficiently questioned about his part in the case. Lawrence himself now lives in a small town in Kent with a divorced English mother. Letters to his address are not answered by him; instead the woman makes brief but abusive phone calls in response.
What then of Lawrence's former employer, John Stamford, and the Spartacus organisation? Company number 1,700,713, registered at Companies House in Cardiff, belongs to Spartacus International Ltd. It describes its business as 'general publishers of trade and business directories, periodicals, newspapers and journals.' The reality is somewhat less salubrious. The company was formed by John D. Stamford, a 49-year-old homosexual paedophile and former Sunday-school teacher from Lancashire. Stamford left Britain for Holland shortly after he was convicted for sending obscene literature through the post in 1972. Spartacus International Ltd has more than one operation - it is linked to The Coltsfoot Press, which specialises in publish- ing gay paedophilic literature, in addition to being the parent company for what Stamford called 'The Spartacus Club'. In 1986 (international law enforcement is unsure whether the club still operates), Stamford was happy to use it to further the aims of the underground Paedophile Internationale. Club members were invited to apply for special 'portfolios' which included detailed information about where young boys could be hired for sex. The club also offered paedophile tourists the services of its own retained 'couriers', who guided them to children available for abuse. The Sunday Times newspaper took Spartacus up on its word. Reporter Mazher Mahmood received a portfolio detailing child sex in the Philippines. Stamford told him: 'If you are discreet I can guarantee you will get as many boys as you want in the Philippines. Our chaps there will fix it up and all it'll cost you is a meal for the guides and just the equivalent of a pound or so for the kid per night. Within hours of arriving in Manila, Mahmood was met by Stamford's courier and offered two boys, aged eight and fourteen, to abuse. Stamford himself said that he left Britain because the British 'are too pig-headed and can't understand the quality of sexual relationships between men and boys.' Fully four months after Mahmood's article appeared in the Sunday Times, the Dutch police got round to raiding Stamford's luxury home in Baarn, a sleepy little village twenty-five miles outside Amsterdam. Not that Stamford was there to meet them; the British paedophile had moved. Spartacus Internationale Ltd was allegedly at least sold to a Berlin-based publisher, and its coterie of ex-patriate British paedophiles dispersed throughout Holland. But Stamford seems not to have relinquished control altogether: he is still listed as the editor of Spartacus, the international Gay Guide which was sent to all 25,000 club members. And the guide itself still promotes child sex and directs paedophiles to the best sources of boys to molest - albeit rather more discreetly these days. Not all of PIE's active members fled to Europe when the police arrested its leaders. Some have stayed on, reproducing PIE's networks of paedophiles on a reduced scale. Ian Dunn, a 45-year-old local government planning officer, was involved with PIE from its inception. He has set up and assisted two subsequent publications - Rain Makers UK and Minor Problems. Copies of Rain Makers UK from May 1986 reveal it to be a gay contact sheet which also allowed the trading of pornography. Minor Problems was a direct continuation of part of PIE. Minor Problems itself was set up by Peter Bremner before his conviction in April 1983. It billed itself as a new radical review for free intergenerational and child sexuality.' It failed to disclose its involvement with PIE and attempted to attract subscribers through a mixture of amateurish social-work jargon and a bogus claim that its publishers were 'an independent editorial collective, not bound to any organisation or group, not adhering to any dogmatic theories, not limited by preconceived ideas, not working for any profits.' For good measure it gave a false ISBN classification number. Dunn allowed his Edinburgh flat to be used as an accommodation address for the publication after Bremner was arrested and PIE disintegrated in 1984. Subsequent issues of Minor Problems show it adhering to a thoroughly dogmatic theory that children have the right to be sexually abused by adults. Dunn had always maintained that he was not a paedophile whenever reporters asked him about his activities.
The PIE tradition of producing magazines devoted (generally) to homosexual child molestation has continued. In Britain the latest venture is called Ganymede, an overtly paedophilic publication run by one Steven Waters, an ex-PIE member from Swindon in Wiltshire. And in Holland the remnants of both John Stamford's Spartacus organisation and Roger Lawrence's Boy Lover's World produce a glossy large-format publication they call Paidika - the Journal of Paedophilia. Whilst it cannot qualify on its contents as child pornography in its own right, it advertises for companies and organisations that will supply such material. And on its editorial board is that evidently difficult-to-trace fugitive from American justice, Frank Torey. If the Dutch government was serious about its publicly protested commitment to stamping out child pornography and commercial child molestation they would move quickly to find Torey and John Stamford. Both, along with several other remnants of the Paedophile Internationale, could be charged under Holland's 'pandering' statute, which makes it an offence punishable by four years in prison to encourage the sexual abuse of a juvenile for commercial reasons.
The René Guyon Society is just one of a number of such paedophilic front organisations stretching across America. Until 1986 there were three other major groups; at least two of them were actively involved with both direct sexual abuse of very young children and the trading of child pornography.
John Bulloch, the English child molester who abused more than 200 young girls, followed the same path as Tom O'Carroll, and 'found himself' watching just such a video. It was a snuff video from America, only about twenty- five minutes long. In it there was a scene with a girl - she was between ten and twelve years old, I would say. She was being horribly mutilated while some men were sexually abusing her. Her fingernails were pulled off, then her fingers were cut off with shears. She was cut awfully and all the time she was screaming, screaming for mercy, and all the time the men were doing sexual acts against her. Eventually they slit her throat. But then, even in death she wasn't left alone. The men carried on doing sexual acts against her. - It didn't turn me on, it sickened me. But then I don't know how far I would have gone for kicks if I hadn't had treatment. I hadn't reached that pinnacle of murder then, but I could have done; it's quite possible that I could have done. I mean, how far does one go for kicks? I started off with masturbation, went on to oral sex and then intercourse. From intercourse it went to anal sex, then group sex and vibrators. It could have quite easily reached rape, and it could have reached murder.
Thea Puijmbroeck was already dead when they got her to hospital. She died in the bathroom of a room in the Holiday Inn, Amsterdam on Monday, 27 August 1984. Cause of death was listed as a massive overdose of cocaine, many times more than her weakened body could stand. Her body was used to a little cocaine by then; it was also used to being penetrated via every available orifice with a bewildering variety of objects. Other people were used to her body, too. Not just the men - and women - who touched her and pushed their fingers or penises inside her; not just the men who showed her how to take the cocaine. Thea Puijmbroeck was a film star: men all over the world bought 'her' pictures and videos. Thea Puijmbroeck was six years old.
Every major European and American city has a 'Meat Rack'. The locations shift and change with the varying efficiency of police activity, but any night of the week the boys will be there waiting for men.
'Paedophiles,' says Shirley Johnson with a shrug born of resignation and weariness, 'will always find new ways to obtain, abuse and manipulate children. They are always looking for new victims and new methods of getting them.' By 1986 child-pornography specialists working for a number of US law-enforcement agencies had identified just such a new method: computer-based 'bulletin boards'. The 1986 Meese Report noted that: Recently paedophile offenders and child pornographers have begun to use computers for communications. A person may now subscribe to an information service whereby he or she can contact other subscribers. The services are private commercial enterprises which sell access codes to subscribing members. These services offer everything from 'private' communications accessed through individual code words to conference calls. The communications may also take the form of a 'bulletin board' message to which any other subscriber may respond.

THE CHRONICLE OF THE SEBASTIAN BLEISCH PORN AFFAIR
A RESEARCH BY FRANK GOYKE AND ANDREAS SCHMIDT
A writer spent six years making pornographic films with teenagers. He quickly became so successful with clients that he could hardly keep up with demand. Around 160 predominantly male teenagers volunteered to work as pornographic actors for money. And an entire city watched. The Sebastian Bleisch porn scandal – an unbelievable and absurd story from reunified Germany.
The Marc Dutroux Case
In August 1996, the two eight-year-old girls Melissa Russo and Julie Lejeune were laid to rest in Belgium. Their deaths not only made the name Marc Dutroux world-famous, but also once again shone a harsh light on Belgium's corrupt, tangled political system. Marc Dutroux, an astonishingly wealthy welfare recipient, together with accomplices, had kidnapped Melissa Russo and Julie Lejeune, thrown them into a dungeon, and left them to starve to death. It wasn't that the man and his followers wanted to extort a ransom; they had a far more lucrative and risk-free business in mind: the production of pornographic and torture films featuring children. It has since become known that pornographic and torture films featuring children are widely watched all over the world, by a well-heeled, successful, and established audience. Dutroux also operated in this market and received generous support from the Belgian police and judiciary, or at least passive support through tolerance and omission. The news from Belgium also filled the German summer lull. Dutroux had confessed to the kidnapping of two other girls, 17-year-old An Marchal and 19-year-old Eefje Lambrecks. While the World Conference on Combating Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and the Trafficking in Children was adopting a declaration in Stockholm, the police were pursuing leads in Slovakia and the Netherlands, and German criminal investigators were also scouring their missing persons files for missing children. For a while, the Dutroux case made people forget that August 1996 was not a happy month for Germany either. In Berlin, the public prosecutor's office brought charges against two businessmen who had produced pornographic videos in Thailand with boys between the ages of nine and fourteen. Thirteen-year-old Ulrike Everts disappears from Jeddeloh in Lower Saxony, and ten-year-old Nicole Nichterwitz is kidnapped from Velten in Brandenburg by her own aunt, who wants to sell her to Dutch porn producers. Nicole is rescued at a campsite in the Netherlands. Belgian police discover the bodies of An Marchal and Eefje Lambrecks. And at the Schwerin Criminal Investigation Department, a chief detective opens an official investigation. The suspicion: promoting sexual acts involving minors. The suspect: Norbert Bleisch, a writer. Suddenly, the state capital of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania smells of Dutroux, too.

A Touch of Dutroux in Schwerin
On September 20, 1996, the Schweriner Volkszeitung, formerly the organ of the Schwerin district leadership of the SED (Socialist Unity Party), now a democratic organ of Burda, published an article. It was not the SVZ's first statement on the Norbert Bleisch case. And certainly not the last. Yesterday, parents of affected young people contacted our newspaper. According to their statements, it was already known at the Schwerin Peace School in 1991 that there were grounds for suspicion against the filmmaker. At that time, he was leading a video group at the school. "The children should express their feelings, deal with themselves playfully, and learn to react sensually," Bleisch said in a press interview at the time. Parents suspected that the filming was about much more. A parents' meeting with a film screening was intended to dispel the mistrust, but it allegedly led to a scandal. "We saw a film in which students undressed and fondled each other," recalls Regine Zielke, whose son participated in the video group but refused to be persuaded to record. Bleisch hastily stopped the tape, which had apparently been inserted by mistake, and acted clueless in front of the outraged parents. His explanation at the time was that the students had made this film without his knowledge, a reason the parents didn't believe. This is the account of Ms. Zielke, who to this day doesn't understand why the authorities didn't intervene at the time. The Schwerin Criminal Investigation Department confirmed that parents had filed complaints against Bleisch since 1991 and that an investigation was underway against him. However, the public prosecutor's office dropped the cases. Ernst Jäger, spokesman for the Schwerin Public Prosecutor's Office, could not comment yesterday on the reasons for the dropouts because the files from that time are not currently in the office. We don't know much about Regine Zielke and her son Robert. After the affair came to a head, they moved and did not have their new phone number entered in the telephone directory. Nevertheless, the Bleisch case haunted Regine Zielke until the end of the court proceedings: As a postman, she delivered police or court summonses to several of the boys involved in the pornographic films. It's an arabesque. No arabesque, however, is the fact that Norbert Bleisch has actually been investigated twice. First in 1992. Then in 1994. The 1992 investigation was triggered by Bleisch's recklessness in having photos for a pornographic film developed not at his distribution company, but in a Schwerin photo studio. The studio owner immediately notified the criminal investigation department, which then launched an official investigation. And Bleisch also came to the 1994 trial almost like a virgin to a child. A Hanover duo had filmed pornographic films with 13-, 14-, and 15-year-olds and distributed them on cassettes by the Düsseldorf company GERO, and the credits of the GERO cassettes usually advertised Bleisch's videos. Bleisch had nothing whatsoever to do with the Hanoverian pornography, but the Schwerin authorities also investigated him as part of their administrative assistance, a case which Bleisch says was subsequently dropped in return for a fine. The aforementioned Senior Public Prosecutor Jäger presents the course of the investigation differently in a letter to us. In his letter of September 29, 1997, he states: "The first investigation was not dropped without penalty, but was dropped in accordance with Section 153a of the Code of Criminal Procedure in return for a fine. The second investigation was dropped due to its triviality." Be that as it may, at this point it suffices to note that both investigations have been dropped; we will return to them in due course. Regine Zielke's lack of understanding, "who still doesn't understand why the authorities didn't intervene at the time," will also concern us later. For now, we are content that two cases have been dropped, but a third has been brought to trial. This, too, ultimately raises questions. On September 4, 1997, the acting Chief Public Prosecutor of Schwerin, Ernst Jäger, agreed to respond in writing to our written questions. We wanted to know many things, including this: Why, after both the first and second investigations had been discontinued, was another investigation suddenly initiated in 1996 based on partly similar allegations, which ultimately led to Bleisch's conviction? What was different in 1996/97 than in 1992 and 1994? We didn't get an answer because "answering your numerous, very detailed interview questions... would require a very high administrative effort, which is unreasonable. "We nevertheless suspect the reason: In the summer of 1996, a whiff of Dutroux wafted through the Schwerin offices. And a whiff of fear of having failed like the Belgian authorities. They pointed their guns at those who, in their own opinion, could only be one thing: abused victims.
The GERO Company
On October 30, 1997, shortly before 4 p.m., we arrived at the Lichtenbroich industrial park from Düsseldorf Airport. The headquarters of the GERO company, which produces and distributes pornographic videos, is located here at Mündelheimer Weg 60. Bleisch informed us that Sven R. works here and lives with Georg Guhert. Sven had left his parents' apartment in Schwerin of his own accord and moved into a home. We will report on this later. After work at around 4:30 p.m., he was supposed to be driven to G.'s villa every day by another GERO employee.
Our waiting in front of the building was noticed. We watched the delivery of videos. At one point, two barking dogs rushed toward us, but retreated again because we didn't move. We stood in front of the building for almost an hour, with various people entering and leaving. From the outside, the door apparently only opened with a chip card. We also learned from Bleisch that Georg G. used to run the company from his villa. In 1994, he sold it to a business friend who had previously been sales manager. This information suggests he was probably a front man. Now, sales and production are jointly located in this building. (The official sales and ordering address is Zurich.) It's an excellent villa in a luxury commercial area, with a relaxation room and sauna, which costs GERO 42,000 DM in rent per month. That could be true. In any case, we don't see Sven. Shortly before 5 p.m., we board a bus that goes directly from the company to the Theodor Heuss Bridge on the banks of the Rhine. Georg G. Bleisch lives here on Rheinberger Strasse. He wrote to us from prison that in the evenings, G.'s huge, silver-gray Mercedes and Patrick M.'s red Golf, who, like Sven, used to film "Hei Bleisch" and who, like Sven, voluntarily went into a home, are always parked in front of G.'s villa. He, too, now lives with Georg G. And indeed: Both cars are parked there, the lights are on in the spacious house. We don't dare ring the bell without an appointment. Instead, we follow Bleisch's advice in the hope of getting close to Sven and go to Le Clou, a bar in Düsseldorf's old town: Sven is supposed to drink his beer there every evening. Le Clou, we are surprised to discover, is a prostitute bar where mainly foreign boys offer their services. We watch the fat punters who know no other subject than boys and cocks. Later, when they've drunk enough beer, they sweat and sing German songs. We don't meet Sven. What remains is the impression of having stood in front of the headquarters of Europe's largest distributor of homo porn cassettes in whose copying studios... around 100,000 copies are made per year and subjected to the most careful quality control, whose tapes with the dog in front (the dog, by the way, is not identical with one of the two that were half-heartedly shown to us tried to scare) have become the epitome of gay porn for millions, and where Sebastian Bleisch's gay videos have experienced a meteoric coming out since 1991. We wanted to know from Norbert Bleisch how the collaboration with GERO came about: He had compiled the available material and sent it to a company near Bonn. They replied that they absolutely wanted the material. Bleisch received an invitation. He went there and was extremely disappointed when he saw that the entire company consisted of a single man who drove around in an old Mercedes. The company was located in his apartment. The man offered Bleisch an exclusive contract: a one-time payment of 400 DM for each 60-minute film. Bleisch signed. He drove home the same way he had arrived, at his own expense, and was extremely annoyed. The next day, he sent the material to a Düsseldorf gay video distributor, which he had found by chance using the search principle. They were also enthusiastic. The company boss himself offered to fly to Lübeck immediately. Bleisch asked Bleisch if he could also come to Lübeck or if there was a possibility of landing in Schwerin. That didn't exactly sound like 400 DM per film. Bleisch drove to Lübeck: And then the company representative told me, 6,000 DM per film for 60 minutes, exclusive, plot-based, five new models for each film, over 16 years old, and if younger, forged IDs. Photography is important -- up until then, I hadn't taken any pornographic photos at all. I didn't even know that you had to take photos for porn videos to get something on the cover. So I first had to learn how to take porn photos: certain positions were necessary, certain groups, groups of three, groups of two, groups of four. Ultimately, you can put all the covers side by side; it's always the same basic structure, always the holy trinity. So it always had to conform to a certain framework, catering to viewing habits. I had a very hard time with that in the first year; there were endless rejects with the porn photos and, accordingly, prints, deductions for bad photos, fines: a thousand marks less. So the cheating started back then, with the first film. I agreed to deliver a film every month; there are no specifications other than these technical ones: four or five models, age... "But those are tough professional conditions... "Yes. But I accepted them because I told myself that if we wanted to enter the market, if we wanted to establish our product, we had to follow certain rules. And at first, I also wanted to make aesthetic films. Completely different, not the hardcore porn films I later came to know, but what you would also call art films. With erotic inserts, but that's not something you can sell to this company. But I was already slightly attracted by appearances, by money. That's how the aesthetic approaches are.
Quickly, after a year at the latest, I went overboard in favor of commercialism, which I then had no more problems with; after I'd come to terms with shooting like that. That was Georg G. who set the conditions? That was Georg G., yes. He had the entourage in his villa back then. He sold it in '94 to a business friend who had been managing sales until then. Now Georg G. is still a partner, but sales and production are combined in one company. Since '94. Did you only shoot S-VHS or also Beta? No. S-VHS. Until the very last day. And then it came to the point where I edited my own film every time down in Düsseldorf in a professional studio there. So the GERO company has a complete professional studio, and all S-VHS cassettes were converted via standard tape. And then I added the soundtrack, according to my editing specifications, so I tailored the film the way I wanted it. No one else could have done it. I had as much time as I needed. The studio was made available to me. They also edited raw material from other providers, but they never have such a complicated plot with dialogue that has to fit together. Who else would edit it? And I didn't have the detailed scripts either; a lot of it was done on the fly, and ultimately, only I knew how things fit together. For the people there, that would have meant weeks of work, first reviewing the material and then creating the scene schedule.
Georg G. bought a house in Schwerin
The pornographic filmmaking, says Bleisch, developed out of a game, out of the boys' desire to discover their bodies. At some point, Bleisch, with the boys' consent, sent the film clips created during these games—whether with or without ulterior motives remains to be seen—to the Düsseldorf company GERO. The response was said to have been euphoric. "We are delighted," Bleisch quotes Georg G. as saying, "we are interested in collaborating." Georg G. wanted to fly to Lübeck and asked Bleisch if he could fly there or even land in Schwerin. G. could land in Schwerin, but not by plane; one of the current Minister-President's pet projects, the extremely loss-making Parchim Airport, was at most "considered" at the time, if at all. So they met in Lübeck, and G. made Bleisch an offer that, at first glance, seemed tempting, albeit one with a catch: G. promised Bleisch 6,000 marks per film for 60 minutes; each film would feature five new models over the age of 16, and if they were younger, their IDs would be forged. At least, that's how Bleisch recounts his first conversation with G. G. will surely deny it. G., as has long been apparent, will blame Bleisch for the forgery of IDs, which has been proven by the criminal police and public prosecutor's investigations. When push comes to shove, G. will have known nothing, like so many others. Georg G. bought a house in Schwerin. Norbert Bleisch lived in this house, and he shot porn films in this house. G. didn't buy the house for the person, but for Bleisch, the porn filmmaker. This house was a contradiction in terms: on the one hand clandestine, yet on the other hand extraordinarily hospitable. Boys seeking refuge could live here without even being touched. Boys seeking refuge could live here to be touched. Georg G., when he was in Schwerin, also lived here.
Georg G. from Düsseldorf
Worthy of millions, that's what Norbert Bleisch called Georg G., once even muttering the number thirty. He owned a villa, in which GERO had organized the distribution of the videos for a while before the company moved to the industrial park near the airport. G. was fat and approaching sixty, and of course he drove a luxury Mercedes, metallic silver to top it all off. To complete the cliché: G. liked to wear gold signet rings; whether he also smoked fat cigars, we don't know. The fact that G. used Bleisch's residence during his stays in Schwerin was apparently based on a reciprocal agreement, because when asked about his trips to Düsseldorf, Bleisch says: "I was a guest. I stayed in G.'s house, and I didn't have to pay for any food; it was all a given." This probably also applies to the boys who accompanied Bleisch to the Rhine. And another thing: G. was almost always interested in personally inspecting the new models who were to be recruited for each film, either in Schwerin or Düsseldorf. This may have been an unpleasant procedure for Norbert Bleisch, but to our knowledge, he never objected. In Schwerin, at least, Georg G. met many of the actors, as some of the boys we interviewed confirmed. And several boys also traveled to Düsseldorf to shoot films, or to Holland, or to the South of France, where G. owns a house. It's easy to assume that he had more than just a business interest in the boys. Bleisch has had to learn this the hard way over the years. On November 18, 1997, Norbert Bleisch wrote to us from prison after we asked him a question about Michael Sch. (the very Sch. whose father demanded a fee for an interview with us): "Michael didn't have much to do with G.; he was once in Düsseldorf with his friend. But Michael resents this mediation—even if it was meaningless to him—and even more so, any other one concerning it. This is Michael, advanced from school speaker to 'actor representative'... Michael was repulsive to G. from the very first moment. The first moment was the way he greeted him (And what kind of person is He?), the way he invited him to lunch (I pay, He eats what I pay for), and the way G. then drove home (I have a Rolls and can cross an intersection on a red light or with a blood alcohol level of 1.3). (According to Bleisch, original soundtrack by G.) That's off-putting, coupled with paired, constantly beeping cell phones. Even though Bleisch himself uses the word "mediation," it must be pointed out that it was never a mediation in the commercial or even criminal sense, but rather an introduction to one another. Nevertheless, Bleisch sees this introduction as his gravest – moral – guilt. He claimed he didn't know at the time what he was now learning during the criminal police and public prosecutor's investigations against Georg G. This may be true, because the boys who had more intensive contact with G. remained silent out of shame. What is obvious, however, because it cannot be concealed, is that the two boys, Sven R. and Patrick M., each with a career in the asylum behind them, now live in Düsseldorf, dependent on Georg G. 's mercy and wealth. Both even live in the porn producer's house; S. R. works for the company GERO, so their dependency is twofold. P.M. is currently catching up on his tenth grade in Düsseldorf. Both boys must be available to G. for sexual services. They are paid for this, but since they are unwilling to talk to us, we don't know how much G. will pay to overcome the boys' disgust and resistance. It must be considerable.
The psychiatric assessment ordered by the court alone indicates that G. prefers sexual practices that are, to put it mildly, unusual. For us, the name Georg G. was mentioned for the first time during the public hearing in the Bleisch criminal case before the Schwerin Youth Court on April 29, 1997. The accusation to be clarified was the prosecution's allegation that Bleisch had asked Patrick M. to pretend to be a year older for G. Patrick M. gave contradictory statements about this; in the interrogation conducted during the preliminary proceedings by the prosecutor's representative, Nitschke, he confirmed the accusation, but in the court hearing during the main hearing, he retracted his statement – a typical occurrence for these proceedings, although the court was never able to resolve the contradictions between the statements made to the investigators and those made during the main hearing. After all, Bleisch confirmed that he had been asked by G. to forge IDs if necessary, which put Bleisch in hot water, not G., who, of course, denies this (also not atypical behavior). Bleisch was exonerated in court, which means that Georg G. is also exonerated: From a legal perspective, what cannot be proven never happened, and opinions and views are not proof of guilt. However, this should not be forgotten: it is sometimes within the discretion of a court to believe or not believe such unreliable evidence as a witness statement. Bleisch's lawyer, Andreas Mroß, otherwise a very intelligent and thoughtful person, uses another example to explain the importance of experience and human knowledge in court proceedings: While observing the trial, we noticed that there were sometimes significant differences between what young people told the police and what they said in court. Was that very often the case, and what explanation do you have for it? In the main hearing, six juvenile witnesses were heard. The contradiction was only really noticeable in one case. In this context, I requested—because it appeared to be an irresolvable contradiction—that the juvenile witness and his interrogator be questioned again in a so-called interrogation confrontation. The juvenile had testified that he had immediately told the interrogator that he did not remember a certain point or that he no longer knew exactly what had happened there. However, the interrogator then showed him certain objects and essentially put certain statements into his mouth. In order to get out of this situation, he then said "yes" or decided on one of the two alternatives presented, even though he actually remembered neither. However, in order to get out of this interrogation situation and even under time pressure with an appointment afterwards, he then said that it had happened this way and that way. However, he actually had no recollection of it. The interrogating officer, on the other hand, stated that the juvenile was an excellent witness. When asked by the presiding judge whether the interrogating officer was of the opinion that this was an "ideal" witness, the interrogating officer answered "yes." The juvenile was initially unsure, but then gained confidence and told everything freely – almost too quickly to take notes. The interrogating officer hardly had to ask any further questions. I believe that these explanations are mutually exclusive and could ultimately only have been resolved by comparing the interrogations. The balancing act that the court subsequently performed in the reasons for the verdict by saying that they are both credible is, in my opinion, not possible. However, I also believe that the juvenile witness was right and told the truth. What juvenile would have the nerve to stand before a court and say that what the interrogator wrote down was a lie? In my experience, this requires such a considerable amount of courage and self-confidence that this circumstance places the juvenile's credibility very high. He could also easily have calculated that the interrogator would naturally be questioned about the facts. And that the police officer generally represents a greater authority and enjoys more trust must also have been clear to the juvenile. That was a serious matter. Otherwise, as far as I remember, the witnesses essentially agreed with what they had said to the police during the main hearing.

I am an anonymous witness in the Rolodex investigation (1998). In 1999 I was supposed to participate in the Leidsch Cabaret Festival. I was banned from doing so by CID Kennemerland. I am now admitted to the Delta Hospital in Hellevoetsluis due to depression. I am on medication. My treating psychiatrist is Lionel Nurmohemmed.
During the Rolodex investigation I spoke to detectives Leen and Ben (gives an old note with the text: Leen & Ben; 06-53443401 (Leen); 06-53 (3?) 68191 (Ben)) from CID Kennemerland. The public prosecutor in charge was Mrs. van Luijn. I was in the torture chamber of Frits Salomonson at Keizersgracht 497. There I was abused by Karel Maasdam. He was convicted mainly on the basis of my statements. I also testified against Arthur Tukkers and ‘Ducedo’, the code name of Charles Geerts. I also testified against ‘German Willy’, a recruiter of Lothar Glandorf. I went to Worclaw in Poland with Ger van Roon. I was 15 at the time. He worked at a university. I was driven in a car with a private driver to his apartment in Amsterdam-Noord. That is also where I met Joris Demmink. I was abused in that apartment. I also met Demmink in the Amstel Club in the Paardenstraat. I wrote a piece about it on stelling.nl [Kleintje Muurkrant]. Ed van Thijn, Paul de Leeuw and Andre van Duin also went there. That place was closed shortly afterwards. You can safely call it the ‘Dutch Pinocchio Bar’.
Another bar of importance is the Festival Bar, also called the Cupido Bar. Ger van Roon also went there. So I met Demmink in two places: at van Roon’s house and in that Amstel Club. Probably also in the club on Insulindeweg 106. How do I know it's Joris Demmink? Simply: the glasses, he's a dirty guy. He wanted dirty, extreme things in bed. People called him Joris. I met Marc Dutroux twice. He came by on Insulindeweg [this has been confirmed in publications in Die Welt; you can read it here]. I now have three daughters aged 7, 4 and 2. The child abuse by the pedophile network must stop.
I was in the circuit from the age of 14. Films were made in the amusement park De Eemhof. They rented two apartments there. I ran away from home when I was 14. My father was an alcoholic. In Amsterdam I was picked up by Arthur Tukkers who worked for Ducedo. I was taken to his house on Oude Schans 53. There I was given drugs and pills. After a short while I had to go to the Festival Bar with Maasdam. I repeat here that Joris Demmink abused me in Amsterdam Noord at Ger van Roon's house.
In 2000 I made extensive statements to the NOS, to Lex Runderkamp and Robert Bas. The NOS has my statements in a safe. I was also taken to the basement of Frits Salomonson and abused there. I also saw Prince Claus there. I also saw people there who later disappeared without a trace.
Demmink mainly had anal sex with young boys. He is a power-hungry man. He became SG because he has incriminating material about Claus that was recorded at Salomonson's. I am prepared to state this on camera. My lawyer is M. de Witte, but he has done nothing for me. He would file various charges, also against Demmink. Also for leaking investigative information. Robert Bas of the NOS connected me to de Witte. I want to say one more thing about the NOS: Hans Laroes is also susceptible to blackmail.
I was driven to Salomonson's house in a black car. There was a lot of marble. A very large living room. Down to the right was a staircase to the basement. There were leather hats, whips, dildos and chains, all sorts of things. I've been there once. I saw Prince Claus there. I was under the influence of drugs and was penetrated there. Demmink has contacts with foreign security services. He passed them Claus' material.
My sights are sharp. I have good cover because my girlfriend is Surinamese and has close ties with Desi Boutserse. When I turned 18, I fled to Tiel with my first girlfriend. I had fled earlier, to Posterholt. I stayed with a farmer's family there for a while.

The statement about L.'s practices came from Bruggenwirth, said to be a former friend of Nico L. In the late 1990s she reported to him for raping her daughter. L. was previously sentenced to 8 years in prison and tbs. Bruggenwirth (53) herself also spent 10 months in prison for complicity, although she continues to this day that she is innocent.
At the start of the session, Bruggenwirth was asked on Wednesday about her relationship with L. "I was held hostage in his home," she said. In addition, she denied that L. was her partner. "It was a friend I could go into hiding with." That hiding address turned out to be no safe haven over time. Bruggenwirth stated, among other things, that L. had shot at her.
Things went wrong from the day two agents of the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIE) came to the door. Then L. became violent, says Bruggenwirth. After three months she tried to get away from him, then locked her in the attic and raped her daughter. And it didn't stop there. "Nico rented out his own children, including to senior officials. I saw that through payment checks. He brought children to the homes of Ger Van Roon, Frits Salomonson, Joris Demmink, Jan Wolter Wabeke and Hans Holthuis."
According to Bruggenwirth, L. raised money from (German) Willy Schmidts, the man who was convicted in 1998 together with brothel owner Karel Maasdam, of whom L. was a driver. Bruggenwirth heard from Schmidts that there were parties on the boat of drug lord Klaas Bruinsma. Senior officials also came there. "I saw the children myself," she said. "They were vulnerable. They smoked and swallowed valium tablets. They were no more than 14 years old, I estimate."
Chris de Graauw (59) was involved in the abuse case as an Amsterdam vice. During his interrogation he discussed the role of Bruggenwirth. L. is said to have forced her to look at her daughter's abuse. In this way he wanted to make her an accomplice by 'hanging a lock around her mouth'. "We decided to treat her as a suspect to get her to safety," said De Graauw, who is still active as a detective with the Amsterdam police. He still said he did not understand why Bruggenwirth was convicted afterwards.
De Graauw did not want to say who the suspicious officials are. In a previous investigation by the National Criminal Investigation Service, he signed a nondisclosure agreement. He did not want to answer related questions and relied on his right to make a difference. The court will examine whether that request can be complied with.
The preliminary witness examination was initiated by former boy prostitute Bart van Well. He believes that the government at the time failed to tackle the boy prostitution and is considering a lawsuit. With this witness examination he can weigh up his legal opportunities. No verdict will follow. Nine witnesses are heard in total. The preliminary witness interviews may provide more clarity about a leaked police investigation in the 1990s.
Fred Teeven is on the roll at 9:30 am on Thursday morning to be heard. In Amsterdam, the former State Secretary for Security and Justice was also involved in the investigation at the time. Teeven was then a prosecutor and was charged with criminal intelligence on that basis.
He may be able to clarify why the investigation had started well before the suspects were known. An employee of the AIVD is also on the role, but it is expected that she will appeal to the right to be made, just like De Graauw.

[Top Justice named in indecent assault case Former detective breaks silence on Rolodex investigation
A former detective of the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIE) yesterday broke the years of silence about the Rolodex investigation in 1997 into the abuse of underage boys by high-ranking Dutch people.
As a witness before the examining magistrate in Utrecht, Leen de Koter (56), under oath, painted a disturbing picture of the investigation that was probably sabotaged by the top of Justice itself at the time.
The frustrations about this were palpable in the former CIE'er, now director of a detective agency. "When a judicial preliminary investigation into Rolodex was decided, the result was that the investigation was broken," he said.
In the witness hearing requested by the De Roestige Spijker foundation in Utrecht, De Koter, almost sixteen years after Rolodex, was the first to specifically name names of those involved. According to him, former chief public prosecutors Jan Wolter Wabeke, Henk Wooldrik and Hans Holthuis, as well as senior civil servant Joris Demmink of the Ministry of Justice were in the sights of the CIE and the National Criminal Investigation Department as suspects of indecent acts with underage boys. The suspicion arose after a tip from a simple indecent offender, who indicated that "high-ranking people are allowed to do anything, while I have been arrested".
The position of Holthuis, who was a CIE officer at the National Criminal Investigation Department at the time and, without his knowledge, the subject of an investigation himself, was particularly remarkable. "At least, that's what I assume", De Koter said about this ignorance. "Of course, it made the investigation very difficult." So much information emerged from the telephone data of pimps of male prostitutes and of professor and historian Ger van Loon that a judicial investigation was decided upon in August 1997.
However, the CRI, led by the current Amsterdam police chief Pieter Jaap Aalbersberg, is said to have rejected the proposal to deploy observation teams. The result of the telephone tapping also yielded no results, to the CIE's surprise: no more sex orgies with minors were discussed on suspicious lines, and sex numbers for boy prostitution were also no longer dialled.
De Koter: "That made me think. I had the strong suspicion that De Roon was aware of the investigation." However, the detectives received the biggest blow during a house search led by the examining magistrate in Van Roon's home. While it was a coordinated police operation at four different addresses, the search of the professor's house started two hours later than elsewhere.]
[''Fifty boys abused Operators also accused of large-scale human trafficking''
Today marks the start of the trial against two Rotterdammers, who are suspected of forcing approximately fifty boys into prostitution. Lothar G. (35) and Hendrikus S. (39) operated from private homes in South Rotterdam (Beverstraat) and the city centre (Overblaak). G. is also suspected of large-scale child trafficking. He obtained the children from Germany and Poland, among other places. In addition to these operators, the judiciary considers Martinus S. (36) to be an important suspect. He is considered one of the largest and most frequent customers. The total number of suspects in this extensive case is 26. Two regular customers of G. and S. have already been convicted.

Rotterdam - The paralyzing fear has made way for relief. The feelings of humiliation and shame must wear off, slowly and carefully. But the damage, which has mainly left enormous mental scars, is hidden under the skin and requires a long process of recovery. Apart from the question of whether a full recovery is possible. Time will tell. The boys abused in two private homes in Rotterdam, from the Netherlands, Germany and Poland, are still under immense psychological pressure. They are alien to any understanding. Only the maximum prison sentence (six years for indecent assault and twelve years for rape) can provide a small measure of satisfaction. They - exploiters and customers - must go to jail. Of course, coupled with unconditional detention (TBS). So that the perpetrator can be treated and, what is much more important, society is protected against even more excesses. The detectives of the Zuidplein police station were put on the trail last year by colleagues from Hamburg, Germany, after two boys reported that they had been held against their will by Lothar G. (35). The telex provided the necessary additional information and the idea quickly took hold on the Zuidplein that this was a major case. This led to the formation of a special team led by chief detective inspector P. Boswinkel. The team also consisted of detectives from the Youth and Morals Departments (JZZ) from all districts and members of the Regional Criminal Investigation Service (RRD).
Defenceless
The investigation was not limited to the abuse of boys, mostly between the ages of twelve and sixteen. There was also evidence of large-scale human trafficking. Slowly but surely, the contours began to take shape. The detective team soon got the name HIK-team: child trafficking. Prime suspect G. was the head of a commercially managed organisation, which exploited the children on a commercial basis from a building in the Beverstraat. He also supplied his 'employees' to other brothels. For example, to Hendrik M. J. S. (39), who forced children into prostitution on the Overblaak. G. also stole the children from an employee on the Beijerlandselaan. He also had a building on the Pleinweg for this purpose rented. There, at seemingly innocent locations, the foreign clientele in particular could abuse the defenseless lads. G. regularly stayed in Poland on business (he had a 'branch' in Warsaw) and then returned to Rotterdam in the company of Polish boys. He first inspected the lads himself before they were dropped off by him in the corrupt circuit. Then the boys were first sent on an escort to a 'nice' pedophile. A 'nice' man who in any case had no outrageous intentions. The next step was renting them out to a pedophile sex cell. The value of the children, who were terrified that their activities would come to light, increased as they were prepared to do more. The police were able to discover that this network included at least fifteen Dutch boys who had not yet reached the age of 16. Furthermore, about twenty Polish boys were deployed, both in their own country and in the Netherlands. It has been calculated that G. and S. each had about 25 boys at their disposal. The police are still confronted with the names of possible victims. Usually only their first names are known, so that it is almost impossible to discover their true identity, let alone their whereabouts. The clientele grew steadily. Most of them were men who could afford such escapades, who had a good job and were also far above average in terms of intelligence. One of those clients abused no fewer than four hundred children in a period of two and a half years. He spent 120,000 guilders on it. So far, the investigation team has compiled a list of 26 suspects, of whom G. and S. are by far the most important. Seven suspects are accused of human trafficking. The remainder are clients.
Customers
Two regular customers have already been convicted. The 41-year-old J. J. B. from Maassluis, against whom public prosecutor Mr. P. Oskam had demanded a four-year prison sentence, heard the judge pronounce three years. The court found it proven that B. had raped six boys. The American A. U. III, who had regularly made sex trips to the Netherlands for a period of ten years, was sentenced to twelve months, of which six months were conditional. He had abused three boys who were younger than 16 for payment. In the initial phase of the investigation, the detective team could only rely on the statements from Hamburg. There was no other incriminating material. Nevertheless, the situation in the Beverstraat, G.'s workplace, became so frightening that the police could no longer justify postponing a raid and house search. Almost at the moment that the police broke open G.'s front door, the telephone rang in the police station on the Zuidplein. And one of the boys forced into prostitution by G. came forward, completely voluntarily. Pure coincidence," says detective M. H. L. Noordermeer. Record time The police waited longer before raiding the home of S., who is described by the twelve permanent investigators as 'not such a bad guy who was dependent on drugs'. This was decided on 13 January of this year, after suspicions arose that a nine-year-old boy was regularly abused. After these two raids and house searches, the police had an almost perfect overall picture in record time. Gathering incriminating statements did not go smoothly at first. Even now, many victims are still afraid of being followed or blackmailed by the suspects. The abused boys never actually had the opportunity to escape this environment. G. not only had a loose hand, he also did not hesitate to use hard blackmail methods. For example, he had a video tape with shocking images delivered to the parents of one of the boys. The police still consider themselves lucky that the tape was not taken from the letterbox by his father or mother, but by a brother of the victim. G. also employed an escort driver, who traveled the country with the young boys. That is how they ended up with - among others - Martinus S. (37) from Arnhem, who played the most perverse games with them. S., who was the manager of a large sex shop at the time, was addicted to the stimulant poppers. This is mainly used in homosexual circles. Frequent use of poppers leads to the death of brain cells, for which no new ones are created. S. was so addicted to the substance that he had connected himself to an IV. This allowed him to determine his own supply and he became increasingly wild. Hendrik S. was still on probation when he was arrested earlier this year. He had been convicted of a similar offence in 1993. Martinus S. also has a criminal record. Nine years ago, he was convicted by the court in Arnhem for shooting an underage boy. At the end of April, he told the presiding judge that they wanted to pin this case on him again. "I have the feeling that I am being made into a monster. S. said then. The boys did not have a homosexual background, as far as they, given their young age, would have been able to determine that themselves. "They are ashamed of what they have done," says detective specialist G. P. A. van der Kamp of the RRD. They have also been threatened. They were terrified of G. who tried to blackmail them in every possible way. In ordinary indecent assault cases you often see that the victims still have a soft spot for the perpetrators. That is absolutely not the case here. At the police station we have provided expert support in the person of a psychologist who also provides further guidance. We cannot just leave those children behind."
Report
Both the Regional Investigation Service and Youth and Morals Affairs fear the worst. We must be careful not to become a porn tourist country," says Van der Kamp, who together with colleague J.G. M. Staps wrote a voluminous final report on the HIK case. It threatens to take off enormously. It is simply frightening what is coming here. The situation in our country is much safer and more hygienic for those boys than in Thailand, for example."]

Operation Framework arose from our serious concern that a number of British men were taking children abroad, principally to Amsterdam, where they were selling them into prostitution and pornography. On the day the final swoop was made we obtained thirty-one search warrants, one of them against a man called Warwick Spinks. Our intelligence was that although Spinks had no convictions, he was a paedophile and had associations close to the heart of the trade in children. It was felt that he was probably so dangerous that he would warrant the kind of scrutiny that only an undercover operation could accomplish. So once again we called on the expert talents of Todd, our undercover officer. In the story of how he gained the confidence of Warwick Spinks, I asked Todd to tell the tale himself, exactly as he recalls it. In November 1992 I was tasked to gain the confidence of a man called Warwick Spinks, who lived in Norwood. After gaining his trust I was to monitor his movements and activities with a view to bringing a prosecution. I had to pass myself off as a homosexual paedophile, but this time I had to do it without letting the target know that I knew he was a paedophile. To make matters even more difficult, this man had never been convicted of anything, so I had to work on a person who had no form for me to study, and who also possessed an apparent ability to run rings around the law. It was not going to be an easy job, and we knew this would be a long-term operation. Spinks had placed advertisements in Boyz, a free homosexual magazine, offering flats to rent in Poland and Amsterdam. I called the number in the advertisement and Spinks answered the telephone. I introduced myself as an executive in an insurance and finance business, and I said I would like to use his flat in Amsterdam. We arranged the dates and agreed the terms, and I gave him a special office number so he could contact me if there was any need. He told me I could pick up the keys from him at the flat in Amsterdam, as he would be there on 17 December, the date I was due to arrive.
Spinks had been under fairly regular surveillance, and a couple of days before I was due to meet him he was seen in Victoria station, talking to a teenaged boy he was definitely aiming to pick up. I was shown a photograph of the two of them in the station as part of my briefing before I left for Holland. On my arrival in Amsterdam I met up with a young Dutch police officer who was to work with me. He was using the name of Mark. In the early afternoon he drove me to the Amstel district and parked outside a large block of flats with the name 'Amstel 294' on the front. Mark waited in the car and I went into the foyer of the building. I pressed the intercom for one of the flats. A man answered and told me to take the lift to the fifth floor. When I got there I knocked on the door of the flat. Warwick Spinks opened the door. I recognised him at once from the various photographs I had seen. He looked younger than his years; he could easily have been taken for a man of twenty-five, rather fat but quite flashily good-looking, the type anybody would assume to be a ladies' man. He took me inside and introduced me to the same youth he was photographed with in Victoria station. "This is my friend Ken,' he said. Spinks then gave me a cursory tour of the flat, which was one big room with kitchen facilities and a fold-down bed, plus a separate shower room and toilet. I said to Spinks, I've met a friend of a friend of mine over here. He's downstairs. He doesn't know Amsterdam, perhaps we could all go out this evening?" 'Sure,' Spinks said. 'In fact we can go for a drink right now, just so you get the feel of the place, then tonight we'll all go out for a proper pub crawl. 'That's marvellous,' I said. 'I'm here for three days, and I don't want to miss out on anything. If you really don't mind showing me round...
'It'll be a pleasure, Todd.' 'Great. I'll pay for everything. I want to see the right places. You know...I winked, 'where they've got the younger element." Downstairs I introduced Mark, then the four of us walked through the cold sunlit streets to the Marcella Bar in Princengracht. We sat at a table and Spinks ordered our drinks in Dutch. He was extremely friendly and I appeared to hit it off with him without any difficulty. He commented on my Cockney accent, and I told him that I came from the East End. He told me he was from South London. I tried to ask Ken about himself, but Spinks did all the talking. 'Ken lives in Kent. He's fifteen,' he added, with the shadow of a wink. Later, when Ken went to the toilet, Spinks told me that he had had sexual intercourse with the lad the night before. He said it was Ken's first sexual experience and that he had pretended to be drunk and asleep throughout the whole scene. When we were on our second drink Spinks asked me what I was going to do during my stay in Amsterdam. I told him I would like to look at some videos and visit a few gay bars. He told me that there were plenty of chickens-young boys - in the gay bars around the city. I did my best to look pleased about that, then I moved the subject on to videos. 'I'll tell you what, Warwick,' I said, 'I bought a few videos back in England but they were very poor quality. "Yeah, well, they would be.' He told me he had run a porno video business in Kent at one time, using the name of J. Heath. He said all of his stock of videos had been confiscated by the police, but he hadn't been caught. 'Do you still have any contacts in the business?" I asked him. He nodded slowly and smiled. He said that he could get any kind of videos I wanted right there in Amsterdam.
"I don't think I'd like to run the risk of taking them through Customs,' I said. 'Have you got any back in England I might have a look at?" 'Sure, I'll fix you up, Todd. Don't worry about it.' Later, while Ken and Mark sat saying nothing, looking around them, Spinks told me he had other flats for rent in Warmoesstraat, which was in another part of Amsterdam. 'But they're for straight punters. I've got flats to rent in Prague and the Canary Islands, too, if you're ever interested.' I quite fancy Prague,' I said. 'Never been there, mind you." Spinks told me drink and cigarettes were cheap in Prague. He had plenty of supplies in England and he would be happy to sell some to me cheap. I noticed that Spinks was getting more talkative the more he drank. He told me he had been coming to Amsterdam since he was fifteen years old. He also said that he had been married and had two children, but he had left his wife and was living with a nineteen-year-old Polish boy in Thornton Heath. He referred to this boy as 'the wife'. When he showed some interest in my own background I told him I was the executive manager of an insurance and finance company. I was single, I said, and usually inclined to keep myself to myself. Spinks told me that tonight, just for a change, I could come out of my shell. He said he would show us round the best gay bars in Amsterdam. Then he looked at his watch. 'I have to go. I've an appointment to keep We arranged that we would meet again in the evening at seven o'clock, at Amstel 294. Before he and Ken left the bar Spinks gave me a set of keys for the flat. I waited five minutes, then left the bar with Mark. We met up with other Dutch officers and went to a hotel where a room had been booked for me. We spent the rest of the afternoon making notes.
Later I went to the flat with Mark, where we sat and waited for the other two to show up. At about half-past seven Spinks buzzed the intercom and told me he was in the foyer with Ken. Mark and I went down and all four of us went to the Amstelhoek, a gay bar.. While we were there Spinks told me he wanted to show me as many bars as possible that evening because he was going back to England with Ken the following day. We stayed in Amstelhoek for about three minutes and then went to Chez Manfred on Halvemassteeg. It was full to the door with gay men of all ages. There were also two middle-aged women, who were walking along the bar, putting lipstick on the men as they passed. We declined their offer and went to another bar opposite. This place was decorated entirely in white, with white cloth on the walls and ceiling. 'It's like walking into a giant condom,' Spinks said. Like the other places this was a gay bar, as busy as the one across the road. Two black men behind me were dancing, and after a minute I felt two hands closing around my genitals. I looked over my shoulder, trying not to panic, and I saw that one of the black men had turned towards me and was dancing with his front to my back. He grinned at me and so did Spinks. I pulled away from him perhaps a little too sharply, then I quickly explained to Spinks that he had been making me spill my drink. We left this bar after ten minutes and went to a quieter one on Amstel. There were only four other customers and the bar had no disco, so it was possible to have a conversation. Spinks drew me to one side. 'Todd, I want your stay in Amsterdam to be a memorable one. There's lots of other gay bars I want to show you, but I've got a problem. I didn't get a chance to go to the bank, so I'm running low on money. Could you lend me three hundred guilders?" 'No problem.'
I handed him the cash, and I had the immediate sense that I had passed some kind of test. He put his mouth close to my ear. 'The next bar we go to,' he whispered, 'I'm going to fix you up with a chicken.´ So events were fitting the required scenario. Spinks had taken to me. I had won his confidence, and he accepted me as a paedophile, all on my first day in the job. The only snag so far was that I had to make sure I had no part in the soliciting of a minor, and I had to do it without making Spinks suspicious. "Listen,' I said, tapping my chest, 'I've got to be careful. With this heart condition I've got, a frisky chicken would probably kill me.' 'Nah. Spinks shook his head. "You won't have to do anything. You can just cuddle, or the boy can give you a blow-job. It won't cost you a thing, either. It'll be my treat." He said I could take the boy back to Amstel 294N, and at some point during the evening we could swap partners. He would let me sleep with Ken while he had sex with the boy he had supplied for me. Now I felt a little flutter of panic. I told Spinks it seemed like a good idea, but the fact was, I fancied Mark. He frowned at me. "Isn't he a bit old for your taste?" 'He is, yes, but he's the boyfriend of a friend, you see? It would give me a bit of a kick if I could make it with him. I won't get a chance after tonight, so I'd like to take a shot at it, if you won't feel offended. 'Do you think Mark will go for it?' Spinks muttered. "He doesn't look all that interested to me." I said I would speak to Mark, and if he wasn't interested, I would take Spinks up on his kind offer. 'Fair enough,' Spinks said. I asked Mark to come outside for a minute. He followed me out on to the cold street.
'Look, I said, 'me and you have got to fall in love very, very quickly, otherwise we're both in the shit, big time. Mark understood. We walked back into the bar hand in hand. 'I'm in with Mark, I whispered to Spinks. 'But thanks for your offer, anyway Keeping my voice low, I told Spinks that not only had Mark agreed to sleep with me, but he was going to drive me back to his house where I could stay the night, so Spinks could have the use of Amstel 294, which would save him driving across the city to the place where he was staying. 'Suits me fine,' Spinks said, and I could see he had swallowed the story. He looked at his watch. 'I'll have to phone the wife soon. He's a jealous lad and gets stroppy if I don't keep in touch.' At about 9:30 I told Spinks I was keen to leave with Mark, now we had an understanding. We said our goodbyes and I thanked Spinks for making my first visit to Amsterdam so enjoyable. I left the bar with Mark and we then drove to my hotel, where we made our notes. I was confident, by that time, that I had made a sound contact with Spinks, and that he not only trusted me and accepted me as a paedophile, but appeared to want to stay friendly. When I returned to England I allowed time for Spinks to get back, then I telephoned him, because I had to give him back the keys to the flat in Amsterdam. I said I would bring them round. He told me not to bother, I could just post them. I said I didn't like the idea of putting keys in the post, I'd much sooner give them to him. So I met him down in Norwood, and he introduced me to the man he had referred to as his wife. We had a drink and as I left he said he wanted to have a natter with me again really soon. We kept in touch fairly regularly after that. I used to meet him at Compton's and similar places in the West End. It was an easy-going arrangement, smoother than I had imagined at the outset.
Then without any warning Spinks moved to Hastings to live. I made excuses to keep in contact with him there, too. Operation Framework at that point had been running for about two years; they now had a list of numerous names and addresses where they would soon make simultaneous swoops nationwide. The big day was about to dawn. I went down to Hastings to find out if Spinks would be there the following Tuesday, when the raids were due to take place. When I was alone with him in his house he said, 'I had two lovely boys here. Fourteen, they were, both of them. He winked. 1 took photographs." 'Local lads, are they?" I asked him. 'No fear. They're from a children's home in Doncaster." I told him I would love to see the photographs. He said he hadn't had them developed yet. 'I'm going over to Amsterdam next week, I'll get them developed then.' I asked him what the boys looked like. One was fair, he said, and was called Tom; the other one, Ricky, was dark-haired. 'Lovely, I said. 'I'd definitely like to see them.' Because of that conversation, the Framework invasion plan was put on hold until we had a date when Warwick Spinks would be back home at Hastings. Meanwhile, going on the descriptions of the boys I had been given, plus their names and the location, the police were able to go to the only children's home in Doncaster where they found, sure enough, that two boys with those names and fitting those descrip- tions had run away several days earlier. Later, when the boys had been found again and brought back to the home, one of them described how they had been picked up in Hastings by Spinks and taken to his home. He had sodomised them at knife-point, then made them sodomise each other. One of them was taken to Amsterdam and sold to the owner of a club called the Blue Boy. He eventually escaped through a window and went to the British consul, who brought him back to England. Meanwhile, Framework had to be re-scheduled, so I called Spinks in Amsterdam and said I was thinking of coming over to Hastings the following Wednesday, which was when the officers running Framework wanted to make all the raids. 'I'll be home that day, sure,' he told me. 'Earlier than that, most likely. Come down when you like. 'I wondered if you'd have the photos of the two lads you told me about,' I said. 'I should have them by then, yeah,' he said. 'You won't be disappointed, I can promise you.' 'Great. I'll see you next Wednesday, then. Spinks was duly raided the following Wednesday. Among other material, the police found the negatives of the photographs of Tom and Ricky from the children's home. At Lewes Crown Court Spinks pleaded not guilty to a number of charges. ''At Lothar's G. the normal price was 180 guilders. That was for an hour. Half an hour cost 100 guilders. (Q) Also for other boys? ''That was a lot more expensive. They paid 2000 to 5000 guilders for that. I can't imagine paying that much for sex.'' (Q) That was for a twelve-year-old or something? ''It must be.''
Gorzow, Poland
''After a while Lothar bought the Night Club on the other side of the hotel. Officially, it was a billiard room. With a billiard table and a bar, but in fact it was a brothel. But you only saw that when you knew.'' (Q) Did young boys work there too? ''From what I saw myself they were around twelve years old.''
The German Lutz Edelmann worked for Lothar G. in Germany and brought underage boys to the Netherlands from 1992 onwards. Two cafés in Berlin worked for the Rotterdam brothel.
Manuel Schadwald would still be seen in gay bars in the Paardenstraat in Amsterdam. There are police reports indicating they were observing Manuel a few times but strangely enough never made a move to pick him up..?
'Marc Dutroux and other persons took me and another minor to Amsterdam, to Insulindeweg 106-D with Mr. Karel Maasdam.'
Piet van H. was a victim of Dutroux. ‘’One day he was kidnapped and taken to Insulindeweg 106-D in Amsterdam, to the aforementioned Karel M. There he was forced to act in pornographic films. Other Belgian minors are also said to have acted in those films.’’
Maasdam is known to the Dutch authorities for several rapes of minors. The crimes were committed each time by different people in a weekend house or caravan.
‘’A certain Karel M. who is known for crimes in pedophilia. During the contacts, Anne H. emphasized each time that the address must be guarded.’’
This police report suggested that a witness claimed to have seen Melissa Russo at the Insulindeweg 106-D!

Another brothel runned by Lothar G. in Rotterdam.
Beverstraat 117-B, Rotterdam.
In February 1992, Robbie van der P. openly came into conflict with Lothar G, aka 'de Rat', in a building in the Brabantse Waalre. Porn-Lothar, as the boys' and child pornography trader has been known to German justice for years, had managed to bring Robbie's two underage brothers to the house. With an excuse, it turns out quickly, they were brought from Belgium to Waalre.
For the then 17-year-old Robbie, gay whore and protagonist in the Zandvoort child pornography gang, it was immediately clear: Lothar also wanted to involve his teenage brothers in the sex games in the house.
"Robbie openly admitted that he sold himself to men, but he wanted to prevent his brothers from going the same way," said Detective Morals T. Verhees, who investigated the sex case in Waalre at the time. 'Both wanted to start a whore room for men in Rotterdam together. But because he brought the boys back to his parents, Robbie openly came into conflict with Lothar. "
Six years later, Robbie van der P., now a rascal, porn actor and prostitute, figures in one of the biggest child pornography cases in recent years. Although neatly married, he still sells his body. As he did to fellow gang member Gerry Ulrich from Zandvoort, until his death.
Robbie is traveling suspiciously. "Honey, sorry I suddenly left again," he writes to his wife when he is back in Berlin. For the smuggling of children, he admitted in an interview last month.
Since last month, Robbie has been detained in Pisa for murdering his fellow gang member Gerry Ulrich. The Netherlands has requested its extradition. Lothar G. has also been under lock and key since 1995, following a conviction for trafficking in children.
The name of Lothar G. now also appears in the Zandvoort file. The small Waalre affair, for which only the Belgian Norbert D.R. was condemned is one of the things that, according to activists against child pornography, make clear that a sex network exists in Europe.
It is a closed circuit of producers, traders and abused children, in which the Netherlands would play an important role as one of the most important production and distribution countries. It would all happen here: rapes at sea in the yacht Apollo by gang member Ulrich, boys who would have been raped in Hulst and Utrecht for the benefit of porn films and photo reports, German boys who were smuggled to Amsterdam for prostitution.
Although the judiciary and police in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany have never found any evidence for such an international porn circuit, it is striking that in many cases that have come to light in recent years, the same names are always mentioned. The discovery of the Zandvoort gang shows that again. Names such as Robbie van der P. and the Utrechter Rudy van D., as small links, or of the big ones such as the Brit Andrew W. and Lothar G.
"Lothar kept running into you," says Verhees about the many investigations he did in his ten-year career as a vice. He now works for the Helmond police. "The guests involved, in my experience, are about corpses."
Characteristic of the disbelief of justice in the existence of an international pedophile network is the Belgian Temse case. The main pivot in this is Norbert D.R., director of a boarding school and the same as of the Waalre case.
Although the Dendermonde Court already had information in 1992 that the now 48-year-old pedophile was involved in child sex, nothing was done with the file. Between 1990 and 1992, the Temsenaar would have been involved in the recruitment of dozens of Belgian boys.
Heavily sedated, they should have participated in sex orgies in the Netherlands. One of the suspects is again Lothar G., who is mentioned in the pieces 'the pimp and supplier' of the children.
At the end of November last year, the judiciary in Dendermonde abandoned the belief that there is insufficient evidence against Norbert D.R. goods. De Temsenaar, acquitted on appeal in the Netherlands in 1993 for his part in the Waalre case, was arrested after the discovery of new evidence in Portugal. A video film showed how the Belgian, together with an Amsterdammer, tried to lure boys with money.
"We have called and demonstrated this since 1992," said President J. Boeykens of the Morkhoven action group, which has had Robbie's electronic pocket agenda since June. "But no one took us seriously. Until that Portuguese band showed up. The names of the Temse network are now reappearing in the Zandvoort case. This is evident from the gang's mailing lists and agendas. Coincidence? "
Robbie and Lothar would return to the crosshairs of justice in the Netherlands in 1995. The Rotterdam police investigated Lothar's practices in response to the loss of German boy Manuel Schandwald.
The German turned out to run a boy's brothel in a house in Hillesluis. He is also involved in the company Wantex, which sends child pornography around the world.
The police then estimated that Lothar and his companion Henk S., who had five years old, had about fifty boys abused in their two houseboards: from Poland, the Netherlands and Germany. "In this case, Robbie was more a victim of child pornography and not a link," said Detective J. Steps involved in the case. "He certainly wasn't suspicious."
Robbie van der P. acquired his longstanding knowledge of Lothar in the Schandwald case last June. In a conversation with foreman M. Vervloesem of action group Morkhoven, whose Belgian television has recordings, says Van der P. that Schandwald had worked in a brothel of the German Rotterdammer immediately after his kidnapping. How Robbie knew all that?
The Zandvoort gang member freely confesses that in recent years he has been involved in the smuggling of German and Eastern European boys to the Netherlands. Lothar G. is also said to have participated in this smuggling line.
Verhees: 'I have seen this misery for ten years. Up to sex with infants. That is why I thought it was not strange that this material was found in Zandvoort. In the Netherlands, penalties have now been increased to combat child pornography trafficking, but it is time for the networks to be addressed. At an international level. Because we know where it is and how it works. "

Newspaper Het Parool, Saturday January 18, 1992
According to insiders, the largest porn empire in Europe is located under the umbrella of the BV Nijco Holding in Terneuzen. The most profitable branch (the Amsterdam Scala Agenturen BV) made the news last summer when a spokesperson for the municipality of Amsterdam confirmed to this newspaper that there were ties between Scala and 'mafia boss' Klaas Bruinsma; the municipality had refused Scala access to the prestigious Teleport project near Sloterdijk at the end of 1990. The connection with Bruinsma had to be rectified by the court after summary proceedings initiated by Scala. In it, the municipal spokesperson emphatically repeated that he had confirmed the connection, but in the opinion of the Amsterdam court president Mr B.J. Asscher, the spokesperson could not be deemed to have 'spoken on behalf of the municipality on this point'. In addition to the Bruinsma connection that Scala disputes, there are, according to the judiciary in both the US and the Netherlands, more ties between Scala and organised crime. The lawyer for the porn empire is Mr J. Engelsma of the Amsterdam firm Engelsma & Korvinus - not a coincidence, because John Engelsma also has a personal interest in it: it turns out that he is a shareholder of the video branch of the empire for more than a million guilders.
[Bodyguard Geurt Roos with Klaas Bruinsma (right), circa 1987 in the old high-class brothel Yab Yum]
[We encounter John Engelsma in the company of the now King Willem Alexander (to show how close the ties are) during the 1992 New York Marathon under the title; “Centurions of the Netherlands” (Behind Gerrie Knetemann (with cap) we see John Engelsma.) In December 1992 - immediately after the photo - Engelsma was thrown out of the nobile officium by the Bar Association because of ties with the underworld. Willem Alexander ran the marathon with one of the leaders of the ‘Bruinsma heirs’, but of course the ties between the “royal house” and the Dutch mafia do not end there.]
A month ago, the Amsterdam lawyer Mr John Engelsma (34) was in the news when it turned out that he had collaborated in various ways with 'mafia boss' Klaas Bruinsma and his extensive syndicate of crimes in recent years. The misconduct involved, among other things, tax constructions, real estate transactions and loans from Hong Kong. Mr. Engelsma's lawyer, his office colleague Mr. Cees Korvinus, then disputed in particular the suggestion that Engelsma had been more or less employed by the Bruinsma organization. According to Korvinus, his work for Bruinsma would have accounted for only about two percent of the turnover: Mr. Engelsma does have more clients. That is correct: John Engelsma has also been the permanent lawyer for the largest porn empire in Europe for years. The empire includes numerous private limited companies under the umbrella of Nijco Holding BV, established in Terneuzen. The director of Nijco is Gerard Cok, a former director of Slavenburg's Bank in Sluis, Zeeland Flanders, who has sometimes been described as 'the Johan Cruijff of the Zeeland financial world'. The founder, and for about two decades the most important man in the empire, is the Amsterdam sex baron Charles Geerts, nicknamed 'Fat Charles'. Charles Ludovicus Geerts (48) initially sold fruit at the Amsterdam Dappermarkt, but in the sixties he entered the porn market. Around 1970 he founded Scala Agenturen, which at the time also traded as Chick Productions. Chick, like Candy, was one of the first porn magazines in the Netherlands. In 1972 Geerts first came into the public eye as 'director of several companies dealing in sex and children's magazines'. That was after he had put a gun to the head of an Amsterdam café owner who still owed him money and said: "If you don't give it to me, I'll shoot you in the head." Geerts then shot a wall after a café visitor had pulled his arm away at the last minute. The Amsterdam justice system tried to prosecute Geerts, but he was acquitted of attempted manslaughter.
Under the influence of the 'sex boom' in the seventies, Scala grew quite quickly into a multi-million dollar company with a monopoly position in the porn industry: competitors were easily bought up by Geerts. For example, he took over Intex from Bunnik, a large distributor of all kinds of porn. At the end of the seventies, with the rise of the video recorder, Geerts founded Videorama, a wholesaler of porn videos with an enormous warehouse in Landsmeer. And he also annexed the concern of Paul Metz from Sluis, nicknamed 'Porno Paultje'. In the course of the seventies, Metz had built up a chain of dozens of sex shops with names such as 'Wip Er In', 'Sex In', and 'Blue Cinema', particularly in places in Zeeland Flanders such as Putte, Axel, Hulst, but also in many cities in Limburg. In mid-1982, Geerts took over the chain for a mere guilder, and then transferred the sex shops to his own company, Sandereijn bv in Terneuzen. At the end of 1985, Geerts made national news after he was arrested at Los Angeles airport. Geerts and his lawyer now sometimes claim that the arrest was actually nothing: Geerts only had a few tapes of Laurel and Hardy films with him, and for the rest it was just a simple matter of mail fraud. "That's absolute nonsense," says Richard Scheff, who handled the Geerts case as US attorney in Pennsylvania (federal prosecutor). In the period leading up to his arrest, Geerts had sent dozens of video films by mail to front men in the US, who had then reproduced the tapes. "And I'm not in any of those films.
[Paul Metz in the office of his new DVD shop in Knokke-Heist.]
Stan Laurel or Oliver Hardy," Scheff said. On the contrary, it concerned films with titles such as 'Chicken Lovers', 'Teenage Dog Orgy', 'Lolita Surprise,' and 'Horse Lovers'. Pornography, in other words. Scheff: "Moreover, there was never any question of mail fraud. As far as I remember, Geerts always neatly put stamps on his packages. Mail fraud was therefore not included in the indictment, but the importation of pornography into the US by false and fraudulent means was, which is something completely different. Geerts' tapes were always packaged in such a way that the impression was given that they were something completely different from porn." It was eventually agreed that Geerts would confess to a number of facts, and that the federal justice department would drop other charges from the indictment in return. Geerts was then sentenced to three months in prison and a $50,000 fine. He was released and deported from the US in early February 1986. Around 1980, Geerts came into contact with Gerard Cok (43). At the time, Cok was director of the branch of Slavenburg's Bank in Sluis, but was dismissed from that position at the end of 1981 after it emerged that he had committed fraud on the exchange market with two Belgians. Through a complicated trick involving the exchange of Belgian francs, a fake company on the Isle of Man, and via Slavenburg's Bank in Sluis, the three had quickly pocketed a million guilders. The exchange trick was also said to have been carried out with black money. In June 1984, Cok, who had since been dismissed from the bank, was sentenced by the criminal court in Ghent to a year in prison, half of which was suspended, and a fine of several tens of thousands of guilders.
[Gerard Cok (middle), two years ago at the New Year's reception of the Chamber of Commerce, Zeeland Employment Agency and Zeeland Seaports port authority in the Mauritshof in IJzendijke.]
Cok then established himself in Sluis as an independent advisor (the still existing Financial Advice Bureau G. Ph. Cok), but also went into business with sex baron Charles Geerts. For example, he acquired a financial interest in Sandereijn BV, the chain of sex shops acquired from 'Porno Paultje' Metz. In the meantime, the empire of Geerts and Cok has grown into what is considered the largest producer and distributor in Europe of everything imaginable in the field of pornography: from the most diverse porn magazines to all kinds of porn videos, from 'ET vibrators' to edible panties, from all kinds of lingerie to light-up condoms and from artificial vaginas to rubber inflatable dolls.
Raids
As mentioned, the various activities are housed in a forest of BVs. In addition to Scala Agencies and Intex (both located at Contactweg 28 in Amsterdam-West, both under the management of Geerts), these also include Recreade bv (for the operation of peep shows and film arcades, also located at Contactweg), Gold Medal bv (under the management of Scala, trades in leather clothing, condoms, and hard porn). Phofil Book by (under Scala management, supplies sex magazines to bookstores). VUH Video Holland bv (located at Contactweg under the management of Geerts, for the trade in porn videos), Octopus bv (under the management of the 73-year-old former tax inspector Roel Veldkamp, produces porn videos, among other things), Ibegro bv (an investment company under the management of Gerard Cok, located at Mr F.J. Haarmanweg 42 in Terneuzen), and finally parent company Nijco Holding (also under Cok's management, and also located on the Haarmanweg in Terneuzen). The porn empire claims to have an annual turnover of around one hundred million guilders, of which the vast majority - sixty million - is accounted for by Scala Agenturen bv. However, the reliability of these figures is sometimes the subject of discussion, including in the judiciary. In May 1986, for example, a special fraud team from the national police in Zeeland raided six addresses of Sandereijn bv, including the head office on the Haarmanweg in Terneuzen, because the sex shop chain was suspected of having tampered with turnover figures on a large scale. Six months later, five employees of Sandereijn were arrested. In April 1987 Gerard Cok was arrested, who would be held in custody for weeks, followed in May 1987 by the arrest of Sandereijn director 'Dikke Charles' Geerts. At Sandereijn, numerous systems for turnover fraud were used both incidentally and structurally, argued the public prosecutor Mr T. Stein, according to reports from local newspapers when the 'little ones' in the Sandereijn affair were first tried in August 1988. The tax authorities therefore imposed substantial additional assessments and fines on Sandereijn. However, Cok and Geerts were never convicted. Geerts, who was assisted by Mr John Engelsma, was eventually released due to lack of evidence. "And in the case against Cok, such procedural errors were made that the court of appeal decided not to prosecute him," says officer Stein, who currently works for the justice department on Sint Maarten, Netherlands Antilles.

[SEX BARON 'FAT CHARLES': "I operate completely within the law"]
After the affair, Sandereijn's sex shops were transferred to another BV, the name Sandereijn BV was changed to Nijco Holding BV, and Geerts was replaced as director by Cok. But the bookkeeping of the porn empire has hardly become more transparent since then. Just over a year ago, the accounting firm Crop, de Kleuver & Co. from Hoofddorp lost track when auditing the annual accounts of Scala Agencies for 1989. "Given the nature and size of the business activities and the size of the company, the internal organization cannot be set up in an economically responsible way in such a way that the required certainty can be obtained by an accountant's audit regarding the completeness of the turnover included in the annual accounts," according to a statement from the firm dating from November 1990. In short, no judgment could be made on the accuracy of the annual accounts', and the accountants consequently had to exercise the same restraint with regard to the books of Nijco Holding, in which the shares of Scala are held. Furthermore, the porn empire is suspected by the American justice system of money laundering, or: of misleading the justice system and the tax authorities by moving black money, via all kinds of bank accounts and private limited companies, in such a way that it is provided with an apparently legal source. This is what happened, among others, with black money from 'Czar of Porn' Reuben Sturman from Cleveland, Ohio, explains a spokesman for the judicial Organized Crime Strike Force in Cleveland.
Cosa Nostra
Sturman is considered by the American justice system to be the world's largest pornography dealer. At least until he was prosecuted, he ran a global enterprise that included more than a hundred companies in numerous countries, and had around seven hundred outlets in the United States alone. The turnover of Sturman's company, under the umbrella of the parent company Sovereign News in Cleveland, was estimated in 1985 in the authoritative Wall Street Journal at 'at least four billion' a year. In the past, judicial reports have concluded that Sturman has close ties with La Cosa Nostra, the American mafia. In the early eighties, for example, a coup was carried out on the California pornography market by Robert 'Debe' DeBernardo of the New Jersey mafia family of Simon 'Sam the Plumber' DeCavalcante, together with Ettore Zappi of the even more notorious Gambino family from New York. The influence of both crime families on the California porn industry "is reported to be exerted through Reuben Sturman of Cleveland," according to a 1984 report from California's Bureau of Organized Crime and Criminal Intelligence. At about the same time, the Federal Bureau of Investigations released a report, "The Extent of Organized Crime Involvement in Pornography," in which the FBI came to the same conclusion: "Sturman has carried out a total takeover with the assistance of Robert DeBernardo, who is known to be a member of the Simon DeCavalcante family of La Cosa Nostra in New Jersey," the FBI report said. Sturman's Mafia connections are also detailed in the book, "Crime Inc." by Martin Short on the history of the Cosa Nostra (1984, Thames Methuen, London). which was published in the Netherlands under the title 'Misdaad bv'. Partly because of these contacts, but even more so because Sturman was suspected of tax fraud, an investigation against the 'Czar of Porn' was started in 1977 by the detectives of the Internal Revenue Service (the American tax authorities). In June 1985 he was arrested by the Organized Crime Strike Force in Cleveland, of which the IRS is also a member. Sturman was subsequently found guilty in November 1989 of sixteen crimes, including tax fraud and 'money laundering' and in February 1990 finally sentenced to ten years in prison and a two and a half million dollar fine. He paid a cash bail of one million dollars and is currently walking around free, pending the appeal he has filed. "The Sturman investigation was one of the largest and most complex the IRS has ever conducted,” said Richard N. Rosfelder, IRS special agent assigned to the Organized Crime Strike Force in Cleveland.

Alias: Dikke Geerts, porn king of Amsterdam
Was link to Bruinsma
Financing films of Karel Maasdam at that time owner Scala
Geerts was the portal to the underworld and also provided the connections between the underworld and the upper world.
It was known that he preferred very satanic sex and also with extreme desires for children.
Geerts bought almost all video productions from Alex for a long time until 1993. What less was went to Gero or to Belgium or to America.
Geerts was and is considered a leader in the porn world and distribution but had a boy in the office who did the gay world.

This company is owned by the mafia Germany. Even Alex had no direct access to the bosses. Usually there were set-ups created with films of Alex that did not run with Geerts. The fraudster was cheated.
Gero is a dangerous link and it is known that he had some people in Romania for dirty jobs.
The story is that Joris Demmink had contacts with Gero via via to get some trips and facilities.

The various activities are housed in a conglomerate of private limited companies, most of which are located at Geerts' head office at Contactweg 28 in Amsterdam-West. In addition to Scala Agencies and Intex (both under the management of Geerts), this bundle of branches also includes Recreade by (for the exploitation of peep shows and film arcades, particularly in Amsterdam; initially, Recreade also housed the Venus Tempel sex museum on the Damrak), Gold Medal by (a subsidiary of Scala that trades in leather clothing, condoms and hard porn), Phofil Book by (a Scala subsidiary that supplies sex magazines to bookshops), VUH Video Holland bv (which trades in porn videos under the management of Geerts, also located on the Contactweg), publisher Jewell Press Holland bv (which produces so-called men's magazines), and Octopus by (which produces porn videos, among other things, under the management of the elderly, former tax inspector Roel Veldkamp). All these bv's have in turn been placed under the parent company Nijco Holding in Terneuzen, under the management of Gerard Cok. Geerts' sales market is as varied as his product range: he supplies from Germany to Australia, from Sweden to Brazil, and from Japan to South Africa. After the fall of the Berlin Wall at the end of 1989, "Dikke Charles" also began conquering the former Eastern Bloc.
Finally, a common thread running through Geerts' porn career is the accusation that he also traded in child pornography. The most concrete accusation against Geerts was made at the end of 1987 by Inspector Ian Donaldson, head of Obscene Publications at the British Scotland Yard, first in The Sunday Times and then in Dutch newspapers. Donaldson accused the Dutch police of laxity in combating child pornography, and is said to have compiled an impressive list: a list of the names of people about whom there were strong indications that they controlled the trade in child pornography. 'Fat Charles' Geerts and his Scala Agencies also appeared on that list. Geerts reacts differently to such accusations. 'You can't defend child pornography,' he has said in interviews. *If something has to be prohibited, it has to be child pornography.' On the other hand, 'Fat Charles' once admitted to having traded in child pornography with Scala Agencies, although he reportedly stopped doing so in April 1984. Geerts' extensive porn empire, housed at Nijco Holding in Terneuzen, officially has an annual turnover that is completely dwarfed by Reuben Sturman's alleged four billion dollars.
Despite a legal ban from 1986, child pornography is still being distributed in the Netherlands. This country plays a central role in the export of video tapes showing child pornography. However, no legal and convincing evidence can be provided. The newspaper Nieuwe Revu comes to these and other conclusions in a search for the truth about child pornography. The magazine claims to have signed statements from directly involved parties, who independently of each other point to Charles Geerts as the big man behind Dutch child pornography. Geerts denies it and Leo Detering says on behalf of the Amsterdam police: The name Charles Geerts means nothing to me. After the actions of the police around '84-'85, the problem of child pornography is in fact no longer a problem."
[AMSTERDAM - Former Bank director of Rabo in Hulst director Lense Hoekstra of the Rabobank in Hulst, Zeeuws- Vlaanderen, personally 'led' transactions with which criminal money was laundered. This was reported by the weekly magazine Elsevier this week. It mainly involved money from a group that is active in the porn trade, among other things. According to the weekly magazine, which previously reported on 'Hulst', the Rabo head office considers the Amsterdam sex baron 'Dikke Charles Geerts, his partner and business himself led money laundering operation observer Gerard Cok, and their Amsterdam lawyer John Engelsma, also a shareholder in Geerts' porn empire, to be among this group of 'judicially tainted persons'. As an example, the magazine mentions a series of transactions in mid-1988. First, Hulst (without permission from the head office) provided a credit of 3.2 million guilders to Zyklo, a limited company in the process of being set up. The money was almost immediately transferred to the accounts of three other clients of the bank, including Geerts. The largest part was spent rapidly on all kinds of loans and share transactions, and the remainder (approximately 1.3 million) was finally paid out in cash by Hoekstra to the three account holders in a motel in Brabant. The internal accounting department of Rabobank Nederland only discovered this 'money laundering operation' in the autumn of 1991, after the German tax police had requested access to the files of Zyklo and also of the publisher Recreade, a company in which Geerts had interests. The internal accounting department of Rabo Nederland had already partly 'cleaned out' Hulst. Under pressure from 'Utrecht' Hoekstra himself resigned as director in July 1991. after he had given himself a golden handshake of six hundred thousand. Gerard Cok, who had maintained the most important contacts with Rabo Hulst, was told that he, his business partners and their many limited companies were no longer welcome as a client. Cok has always denied having anything to do with money laundering or crime. 'In vain', writes the weekly: according to witnesses, Cok regularly met mafia boss Klaas Bruinsma in the port of Breskens at the time, who, like Cok and Geerts, was a client of Mr Engelsma.]
[Money laundering in porn trade AMSTERDAM - The top criminal Klaas Bruinsma, who was liquidated last week, also appears to have been closely involved in the porn industry. The large capital that he raised, among other things, through drug trafficking, is said to have been partly laundered through investments in a worldwide network of shady BVs. One of these is Scala Agenturen BV in Amsterdam. With an annual turnover of an estimated sixty million, this company is considered one of the largest producers and distributors of porn and sex articles in Europe.]

Child pornography
There was another reason to ban Scala from Teleport. Scala also appeared to supply video stores with child pornography, films with titles such as The Boys, Young Pissing Boys, Fist Fucking Boys and Young Sucking Boys. The Justice Department has been informed of this, but it is uncertain whether it will ever lead to prosecution: the production of child pornography is punishable, but the supply is not. Charles Geerts was not available for comment yesterday or this morning. "He is here, but we are on vacation, so everyone is very busy," according to a spokesperson for Scala.

Elm Guest House Conspiracy
Capital Gay were the only media outlet to report on Elm Guest House for many years. It was a distinctly pro-paedophile paper, and was always first on the scene with paedophile news. They ran a story about an ‘Anti-Police Protection Fund’ which gave support to the beleagured paedophile brothel. Paul Rinehart, who was connected to the Elm Guest House paedophile ring, donated £1000 to the cause, and paid for a full page advert in Capital Gay.
The Elm Guest House is on Rocks Lane, Barnes , South West London. Between 1979 and 1982 it was owned and run by Carole Kasir and her husband Haroon, who were both bisexual jews. Carole Kasir had been paid by the Spartacus Club ( ostensibly a gay club but really for paedophiles with up to 25,000 members ) to become a venue for their “parties”.
Following Carole Kasir’s suspicious death from an insulin overdose in 1990 at the age of 47 two Social Worker friends of hers gave disturbing evidence at her inquest. Mary Moss and Christopher Fay made serious allegations of Child sex abuse by rich, powerful People at Elm Guest House. There are also two local Boys still missing from that time who are believed to be linked to Elm Guest House.
Mary Moss was raided by the Metropolitan Police Special Branch and other unknown Police Units looking to seize and destroy any evidence, however she managed to photograph and upload the alleged VIP guest list and other evidence before the Police could get to it.

One of the German magazines was named Spartacus and it was the codename of an international underground paedophile network.
It was run by a bloke called John Stamford out of Amsterdam.
He originated from the UK and I think sort of got himself in a bit of strife there and went over to Amsterdam and he was running this network, and Clarry Osborne was part of that.

Coded newspaper ads hinted: guest house was for men who wanted sex with boys
By David Pallister and David Hencke | 2 February 2013
Papers seized by police name the man who helped turn a guest house into a paedophile brothel allegedly used by MPs and other VIPs.
Exaro can reveal that the key figure who persuaded Carole Kasir, co-manager of the guest house, to create a haven for homosexual men to have sex with boys is Peter Glencross, who was part of an underground paedophile network called ‘Spartacus’.
The evidence, seen by Exaro, raises serious questions for the many MPs of all main political parties and other VIPs who, according to the papers, visited Elm Guest House in Barnes, south-west London.
It comes as detectives interview victims, and prepare to make initial arrests and lay charges as part of ‘Operation Fernbridge’ – within weeks.
The Metropolitan Police Service is planning to hold a press conference soon afterwards to encourage more victims to come forward.
Peter Spindler, the Met commander, is expected to be at the press conference, accompanied by Tom Watson, the campaigning MP, plus a representative of the NSPCC, the charity aimed at preventing cruelty to children.
The Met last month launched a full criminal investigation into allegations that many prominent people, including politicians, abused boys in the early 1980’s at the guest house.
That move came after Exaro made a series of revelations about the case. In a joint investigation last weekend, Exaro and the Sunday People disclosed how a Conservative party campaign group “strongly recommended” the guest house to members in a newsletter.
Papers relating to the guest house name its alleged VIP visitors.
Detectives seized the papers in a raid last month. The papers suggest that two men persuaded Carole Kasir to change the guest house into a place for homosexual men in 1982.
According to the files, they introduced her to Glencross, a South African based in Holland, one of whose roles was to create a network of venues for Spartacus members.
Spartacus International, a gay guide, identified Glencross as its commercial manager. The Spartacus Club used it to attract members.
A German company has since taken over Spartacus International, and transformed it into a respectable publisher of gay guides.
Carole Kasir, who died at the age of 47 in 1990, may have been unaware of Glencross’s connection with Spartacus. But the guest house placed advertisements in the gay Press that signalled it as a place for homosexuals who want to have sex with boys.
The advertisements included the line: “10% Discount to Spartacus Club Members.” Any Spartacus member, and many other paedophiles, would have understood the coded reference.
Exaro revealed an example of these advertisements, from London’s Capital Gay newspaper a fortnight ago, at the same time as tracking down the surviving co-manager of Elm Guest House, Haroon, or “Harry”, Kasir, whose home has also been raided by police. He is refusing to comment.
Spartacus Club and Spartacus International were then run from Amsterdam by John Stamford, a former Roman Catholic priest from Lancashire, who moved to Holland after being convicted in England of sending pornographic material through the post. The club was reported to have 25,000 British members.
The group was named after the leader of the Roman slave revolt, who has long been a gay icon, especially after the scene in Stanley Kubrick’s 1960 film in which the character of Crassus, a senator, is helped to bathe by his young slave, Antoninus.
Stamford masqueraded as a libertarian gay, but championed the Paedophile Information Exchange, a network promoting sex with children. There is no trace of Glencross after 1989.
Between 1979 and 1985, Stamford also published PAN, or Paedo Alert News, which described itself as a “magazine about boy-love.”
Spartacus was exposed by The Sunday Times in 1986. Undercover reporters were offered two boys in Manila, aged 8 and 14. Stamford was quoted as saying: “If you are discreet, I can guarantee you will get as many boys as you want in the Philippines.
“Our chaps there will fix it up, and all it will cost you is a meal for the guides, and just the equivalent of a pound or so for the kid per night.”
Stamford died, aged 56, in prison of a heart attack in Belgium in 1995 just before he was due to stand trial on child sex charges.

Timebomb at Elm Guest House: Pop stars, a bishop and a top politician appear on a list seized by police investigating child abuse at the London hotel in the 1980s
· Police have reopened investigation after new information emerged that suggests the hotel was a venue for a paedophile ring of VIPs
· Former co-owner Carole Kasir said to have list of high-profile visitors
· Could this be the biggest Establishment cover-up yet?
During a police raid on a property in central London last month, detectives seized a list of names of high-profile alleged visitors to the Elm Guest House in Barnes, South-West London — a gay-friendly establishment, and one where under-age rent boys and children from the Grafton Close home were reportedly brought to have sex with adult men.
The list includes a number of senior MPs, a high-ranking policeman, a leading tycoon, figures from the National Front and Sinn Fein, an official of the Royal Household, an MI5 officer, two pop stars and the traitorous Soviet spy Anthony Blunt.
Cyril Smith, the late Liberal MP for Rochdale, has already been named as a regular at the guest house, where he allegedly met teenage rent boys when the homosexual age of consent was 21.
The guest house has also been linked to a now-defunct Tory fringe group that promoted homosexual rights.
De Telegraaf 31-12-1993
The most disgusting case of 1993. That is how the police of the Belgian town of Geel describe the discovery of an international network of child prostitution with branches to the Netherlands. According to the police, through the mediation of a Briton living in Geel, pedophiles were able to satisfy their lusts with children under ten years of age. This sickening child trafficking also appears to take place via various contact addresses in our country. Main suspect John David Stamford (54) is facing a sentence of twenty years. The Briton owns a gay massage parlor in Geel, has a postal address in Amsterdam and is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Spartacus International Gay Guide, a guide with addresses of bars, hotels and meeting places for gays. This guide is distributed in the Benelux by the company Scala BV of the Amsterdam sex baron 'Dikke Charles' Geerts. According to the police in Geel, the Spartacus guide plays a central role in providing coded information about child sex. Following the reporting in this newspaper, Dikke Charles decided yesterday to stop distributing the guide pending the results of the criminal investigation. 'Mister Spartacus' John Stamford was previously the target of a criminal investigation in the Netherlands, but he escaped. Stamford then left for Belgium, where, according to the police, he ruled the world-wide pedophilia network.
During the raid on the massage parlor, the Geel police seized 25 pornographic tapes, as well as erotic drawings of very young children and numerous newspaper clippings about child pornography. In addition, the police found dozens of pornographic magazines, travel guides for gays, hotel brochures, maps and thousands of letters to Stamford from all over the world. The Briton, founder/editor-in-chief of the international gay guide Spartacus, kept everything. Even the empty envelopes of the letter writers. On computer diskette he had stored the names and addresses of some 25,000 men with whom he had written contact. The piles of mail had arrived at a Stamford post office box number in Amsterdam and at the address of Spartacus Mail Order, The Spartacus Club and Spartacus Gay Travel Magazine on Old Gloucester Street in London. Lenaerts: "Based on the correspondence from all over the world, from Mexico to the Netherlands, we have been able to establish that the seized guides and brochures contain addresses where pedophiles can come into contact with child prostitutes. We have compared this material with the information contained in the Spartacus guide and very strong indications have emerged that this guide contains coded information for the benefit of the pedophilia network. (For example: The designation YC in bars means 'young children'. - But according to Stamford it actually means 'younger crowd') At certain addresses listed in the guide, sex with minors is probably possible." Stamford, son of a police officer, started the Spartacus International Gay Guide in 1970. In an interview with the Dutch Gay Krant in March 1984, the Briton said: It was clear to me that I wanted to make the best gay guide in the world." The Gay Krant describes the guide with addresses of bars, hotels and meeting places as the 'bible' for every gay man, but also criticizes the appreciation that Stamford gives to the bars and clubs: "Stamford apparently only likes bars where young lads come." Stamford said that he owns a 'motorhome' with an advertisement for the Spartacus guide. The license plate stated: BOY 1.
The camper is now on a vacant lot opposite the massage parlor in Geel that was closed by order of the court. Deputy commissioner Lenaerts: We suspect that he has driven around in his 'mobile home' with minors to visit customers." Since the police raid, the camper has been half-sunk on a swampy terrain. Now without any advertising for the Spartacus guide. Stamford has also regularly driven around in his camper in Amsterdam.
The latest edition of the Spartacus Guide states the following about Amsterdam: "Amsterdam is known all over the world for its cosmopolitan liberalism, a climate in which homosexuals, lesbians, transvestites, transsexuals and, to a certain extent, height even pedophiles are cherished." At the end of the eighties, Stamford's activities in the Netherlands came to an end. Following publications in this newspaper and in the English press, the Utrecht justice department raided Stamford's large villa in Baarn on 9 December 1986. Mister Spartacus was suspected of mediating between pedophiles and minors for sexual contacts.
Twenty months later, in September 1988, Stamford was acquitted for lack of evidence. The British press reacted furiously: 'Child porn tycoon goes free in paedophile paradise, Holland!' the newspapers reported. Furious detectives from Scotland Yard criticised the lax attitude of our justice system. 'In England, the evidence against Stamford would have been overwhelming, but Holland has such a lax attitude towards perverts like Stamford', according to the detectives. The frenzy in England was fuelled by reports that the Utrecht justice department had seized a child pornography video that allegedly showed Stamford abusing eight-year-old children. The Briton then disappeared from the attention of Scotland Yard, among others, until the Geel police arrested him. From his massage parlour, he had continued his activities. 'Mister Spartacus' remained editor-in-chief of the guide of the same name, which the Belgian justice department now suspects contains coded information about child sex. The company Scala Agenturen BV, based in Amsterdam-Sloterdijk, owned by Charles Ludovicus Geerts (50), distributes the Spartacus guide in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Geerts is known as one of the largest porn dealers in the world. The sex baron previously told us about his relationship with Stamford: "I didn't like that guy for years. After he became a scandal in our country, I decided not to do business with him anymore. We now distribute directly from the publisher in Berlin."
John David Stamford was like the European equivalent of John David Norman whom was doing the exact same thing back in the United States of America.
In 1985, I started an investigation into child prostitution in Paris. A colleague of mine, who was later murdered, said to me: Stamford is in Amsterdam. That's where he was at that moment. Then I went there and met John Stamford. I was afraid because it's a rather strange environment. He said straight away: ''I'm not a pedophile, and I'm not gay either. I work for a very rich and famous person who is a pedophile and for whom you can do something.'' Then Stamford said: ''We have everything. Magazines for example, like here Pedo Alert News (PAN) with children.''
''I have contacts everywhere and can get you a child of the desired age and gender within two hours.'' - John Stamford
‘’Child prostitution is an international problem. Just like drug trafficking and arms trafficking.’’
