The clinic was run day-to-day by Dr William Ryckman, who formerly worked as a physician at a federal prison. Ryckman said in a deposition that he was hired to work in Williamson in 1997 by a prisoner he befriended, Henry Vinson, who served five years for running a gay prostitution ring in Washington DC. Ryckman described the former prisoner as “setting up the practice” and recruiting doctors. Vinson said he did no more than manage the building.

A reporter finds Paul Bonacci, who is now 56

Later that day, I drive to Nebraska to look for Paul Bonacci. His last known address was on a gravel road near a river west of Omaha. It’s late in the afternoon when I pull up and walk toward the Bonacci home. A dog barks loudly, and several cats and kittens mill around. After a knock at the front door, a woman answers. She says Paul isn’t home.

As I prepare to drive away, a red pickup truck comes down the gravel road. The driver parks near the Bonacci home and gets out. I wave. Yes, this is Paul Bonacci. Everyone involved in Johnny’s case is either dead or much older than they were when it started. Bonacci has just turned 56. He’s got the same dark eyes he had in the videos from three decades earlier. Now he also has a few lines on his face.

Bonacci is reluctant to give a formal interview. He’s skeptical of reporters, and he needs to go pick up his daughter soon. But he’s friendly enough, and the conversation continues for about 10 minutes.

I ask if he thinks Johnny Gosch visited Noreen in 1997.

Yes, he says. He knows it happened, because Johnny told him about it shortly thereafter. Bonacci says Johnny has visited him, too. Right here at this house.

I ask if Johnny is alive.

Yes, he says. As far as he knows, Johnny is alive. With a family of his own.

Bonacci cuts the conversation short, and doesn’t return my texts or phone calls after that. But on a warm afternoon in October, I go back to see him again. He’s in the yard, and he’s got work to do, but he doesn’t tell me to leave. So I keep him talking and start taking notes.

He doesn’t have much new information about the other kidnappers. He never knew Tony’s full name, or what became of him. He never learned Emilio’s full name either, but he’s been told Emilio is dead.

The story he tells about Johnny is difficult or impossible to prove. And given the questions about Bonacci’s credibility, many people say he does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. Nevertheless, Bonacci stands by his story.

I ask Bonacci if he has any pictures or documents to corroborate what he says.

“Anything I had was destroyed in the flood here,” he says. Bonacci lives near a river, and flooding in 2019 put four feet of water in his house. He’d been hand-writing some notes for a possible book, “about 2,000 pages,” he said, but those notes were left waterlogged and illegible.

Bonacci says he’s seen Johnny Gosch 15 or 20 times in all, the last time around 2018. He says Johnny is in hiding, afraid to come out and tell what he knows.

“He’d be killed,” Bonacci says. “That’s what he’s afraid of. He’d be silenced.”

How about Phillip Paske? Though this photo is from 1976, about 12 years before Michaela's abduction, I always thought it looked pretty similar.

Both he and the Garecht kidnapper had blond hair grown out long, bad skin, and blue eyes. Both were tall (over 6 feet) and thin.

As far as similarities to "Tony", both obviously were child traffickers. Norman's operation only has a few degrees of separation from Franklin, so it's likely they were actually part of the the same network. There's also a very peculiar detail that matches precisely: Bonacci testified that "Tony" was known to pose as a woman and a Chicago Tribune article said the same about Paske.

Paske did have a connection to the Bay Area in the early 70s, living at 7125 Rainbow Drive in San Jose CA. So that could indicate he had familiarity and would be comfortable committing a kidnapping there in 1988.

Officially, Michaela's abduction has been solved in December 2020 with the indictment of David Misch. But the evidence against him is quite shaky: eyewitness identifications occurring decades after the kidnapping, and a partial palm print match that was done subjectively by hand instead of on a computer. Plus, he's charged with murder despite no proof that Michaela is even dead.

Back in 1989, a creepy guy from NAMBLA's Bay Area chapter named Richard Helwig was arrested at the Mexican border. Two of his child victims in Mexico indicated that Michaela, as well as Amber Swartz-Garcia (a Bay Area girl abducted earlier in 1988), were being trafficked by Helwig. NAMBLA has its own Franklin scandal ties, of course. Paul Bonacci claimed to have been abused by high-level NAMBLA members. Reportedly, NAMBLA had a $5 million account (under the Church of the Beloved Disciple, where the early meetings that formed NAMBLA took place) at the Franklin Credit Union.

The San Francisco chapter is especially sleazy, being home to people like Walter Breen. Another suspect in the 80s Bay Area abductions (includin Amber and Michaela) named Timothy Bindner was associated with NAMBLA himself.

As many of you may know, Lawrence E. King, alleged high-powered child trafficker and abuser from “Franklin Scandal” infamy, was allegedly (or may still be?) employed as some kind of executive assistant at the Rolls Royce Dealership in Sterling, VA, owned by entrepreneur Thomas Moorehead. Here and here are two previous posts a Voat user did digging up current whereabouts on Larry King. Worth pointing out that Sterling, VA is a DC suburb only about a half hour drive from CIA HQ in Langley, VA.

Interestingly enough, if you dig into the background of Larry King’s boss, Thomas Moorehead, you will quickly find that back in the 80s he went through General Motor’s extremely selective dealership training program, which trains new dealership owners. In 1987, Moorehead opened his first car dealership, selling Buicks, in of all places (you guessed it)…. Omaha, Nebraska. Omaha is of course the epicenter of the Franklin Scandal child abuse allegations. By all accounts, Moorehead was an extremely successful car dealer, rapidly opening more dealerships after his initial one in Omaha. In 2002, he moved to Virginia to open a new BMW dealership in Sterling VA and went on to open a Rolls Royce Dealership right across the street. According to the Washington Life article, Moorehead is very very concerned about providing the utmost customer service to his wealthy clients at his Rolls Royce dealership in Sterling. Apparently, he will even send “…homemade coffee cakes to clients whenever the dealership makes even a minor error.”

Using basic common sense, if a guy like Thomas Moorehead is so obsessed with “customer service” that he is baking coffee cakes in response to minor customer errors, does anyone really think he would ever hire someone at his dealership without performing the most thorough background check possible? Seeing all the horrible info about Lawrence E King that is out there on the internet without even needing to pay for a background check, obviously there is much more at play then meets the eye. In a radio interview, Franklin Scandal author Nick Bryant said that Larry King had gotten a “no-show job” at a car dealership in Virginia, and that clearly King was keeping his mouth shut and being rewarded for it.

I also never found direct evidence linking Cain to Franklin, but it would make a lot of sense. Willy Thiesen, the former owner of Godfather's Pizza, undoubtedly was involved, and had a role as a drug supplier. Honestly, given that it's a pizza parlor with the name "Godfather" literally in it, it deserves to be mocked as the most cliche mafia front possible. And it probably didn't stop being a front after Cain ended up in control of it.

Another example of an Italian restaurant in the Midwest/West acting as an organized crime front in drug and sex ring activities is Pasta Jay's in Boulder CO, run by Jay Elowsky. One of the investors, and a close personal friend of Elowsky, was John Ramsey. It also happens to be the case that Elowsky grew up in Michigan just like John did, and was in Michigan during the time JonBenet Ramsey was killed. Elowsky went crazy in physically threatening (with a baseball bat) two men who he thought were reporters stalking Patsy Ramsey, then was allowed by Alex Hunter's DA's office to plead guilty to a single misdemeanor. Sounds like a wannabe mob enforcer with protection from local law enforcement. And indeed, it turns out that Elowsky was one of the largest cocaine importers in Boulder.

In the context of Dutroux and the X's, there is an opportunity for someone to perform some U.S. based research, following up on a book written by New York resident Sheri de Borchgrave.

Sheri De Borchgrave is an American citizen who lives in New York. She writes for Cosmopolitan Magazine, and calls herself 'The Bedroom Baroness' She has awarded herself this title because of her (claimed) sexual expertise, learnt while she was briefly married to... a Belgian Baron. And she exploits her self proclaimed expertise to the limit! If anyone wants to know about 'your guy's moan zones' or 'what the men of Fiji do their penises, just to satisfy their wives' then they can look up Sheri on the Cosmopolitan Magazine website, and get all the advice they need...

Now where does she appear in the Dutroux scandal? She is mentioned by the authors of 'Les Dossiers X' in the context of Police Statement 150.265 11/02/1997 POURBAIX, in which an alleged victim claims that her abuser made a phone call to someone named BORCHGRAVE. According to the authors of 'Les Dossiers X' , this is interesting (although apparently overlooked by the Belgian investigators) because Sheri De Borchgrave wrote a book about her life with Baron de Borchgrave, and she claims that she didn't have a very nice time. In fact she effectively says that her dreamboat Belgian Baron is an out of out psycho, as are most of his Belgian aristocratic friends! And she wrote a book about it, published in August 1993 and entitled 'A Dangerous Liaison: One Woman's Journey into a World of Aristocracy, Depravity and Obsessive Love'.

Now she does not talk about child abuse, but claims that she was forced to participate in orgies among members of the Belgian aristocracy, and once even turned up to catch hubby Jacques shagging his own sister. Interesting stuff! Since the dear ex-husband's premature death in 1989. she has been locked in a legal dispute with the de Borchgrave family, who claim that everything she said was a pack of lies. The family has managed to prevent publication of Sheri's book in Belgium, after coming to an arrangement with the publisher there, but it is freely available in the U.S. and is an entertaining read. But is all or any of it true? If it was true, then this would suggest, to me at least, that Regina Louf (and the X's) accounts of depravity among the Belgian aristocracy were credible. The book covered alleged events in the early 1980's, and Jacques died in 1989 (suicide, according to Sheri, and an accident according to the de Borchgrave family).

In February 1984, a tip from an informant led the NYPD to investigate a possible illegal escort service called Cachet. By October, police had sufficient evidence to raid an Upper West Side apartment that was apparently the prostitution ring’s office. The apartment’s owner—and the operation’s CEO—was a woman who identified herself as Sheila Devin. Both law enforcement and the public were surprised to discover that Sheila Devin was an alias for Sydney Biddle Barrows, a socialite who could trace her ancestry to the Mayflower. The media named Barrows the “Mayflower Madam.” In July 1985, Barrows ended her legal woes by pleading guilty to promoting prostitution. She was fined $5,000. She could have faced a maximum of seven years in prison if convicted after a not-guilty plea. Barrows ran a tight ship at Cachet. Her employees were fined $10 to $25 for gaining weight or being tardy for meetings. Barrow required her escorts to get regular medical checkups, and they served a clientele largely of corporate executives and Arab sheiks. Services were $200-$400 per hour, with a deluxe overnight option including dinner, dancing, and a show for $2,000. Barrows parlayed her experiences into lucrative book and TV movie deals. She is now a high-end customer service consultant.

@Jan Kowalski I read that book by Sherri de Borchgrave about 20 years ago. It was shocking to my young mind, and it was one of those formative experiences that lodged deep in my brain that sort of cleared the brambles from my mind about how the world actually works for the people who run it. Nearly everyone she met was debauched and it was very open zero secrecy. Imagine if every single person you know has sex parties together including relatives. Even the butlers in her story were evil and gross.

The whole story was gross. Her husband raped and killed the maid and he almost killed her as well.
