Lawrence Bittaker & Roy Norris
"The Toolbox Killers"
12-13-2019 Died
Norris’ attorney, Bill Charvet, said he (Charvet) has received two death threats since it was confirmed Norris would testify against his alleged accomplice in the 1979 murders.
Peering out the corner of his thick-rimmed glasses at Bittaker every few seconds, Norris told prosecutor Stephen Kay that he and Bittaker were in a prison clique of about five inmates at California Men’s Colony East in San Luis Obispo. There were two rapists, one armed robber and two murderers, one a homosexual who liked to be called Betty, Norris said. Norris was in prison for rape and Bittaker grand theft.
Norris testified that while in prison he and Bittaker discussed trying some rapes when they got out. ‘’He said he had never tried rape altough he was curious about it. I told him the rape wasn’t the important thing. It was the domination,’’ Norris said.
