The Churchill County Sheriff's Office posted the following on Facebook Wednesday evening: On Tuesday, March 29, 2022 Investigators from the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office along with a Detective from the Lyon County Sheriff’s office responded to a remote part of Churchill County following a tip regarding the disappearance of Naomi Irion. Their investigative actions led them to a possible gravesite, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Investigative Services team was contacted and responded to assist in processing the scene. The body of an adult Caucasian female was recovered from that gravesite, the body was transported to the Washoe County Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy and to confirm identification. On March 30, 2022 the remains were confirmed as those of Naomi Irion, the family has been notified. No further information can be released at this time as this is still an open and active investigation. We would like to extend our sympathy and condolences to the Irion family and thank all the volunteers for their hard work in trying to find Naomi and bring closure to the family. Both circumstantial and DNA evidence relating to some of Kraft's murders have caused many to strongly suspect that not all of the murders attributed to Kraft were committed by one person. The prosecution believed these inconsistencies could only be explained by the presence of an accomplice. It is contended that Kraft would have had difficulty moving around 200-pound (90 kg) corpses. Dumping them from moving vehicles while alone would also be difficult to do unnoticed. Abrasions and debris found at some of the crime scenes, where bodies had been discarded upon or alongside freeways, indicated that they had been discarded from vehicles traveling at more than 50 miles per hour, and for one individual to perform this act without compromising his driving would be very difficult. Moreover, footprints in the sand close to where the body of John Leras was found at Sunset Beach in 1975 unequivocally indicate two people had carried the youth's body to where it was discarded. In the case of Eric Church, semen samples found on his body were inconsistent with Kraft's blood type, and, while the photographs of the victims found in Kraft's car had to have been processed somewhere, no photo developer ever reported Kraft's morbid images to the police. (Kraft himself had no darkroom expertise or darkroom equipment.) During Kraft's trial, members of the prosecution admitted privately that they did not charge him with several murders that they were certain he had committed because of facts relating to the cases which indicated more than one perpetrator. Although DNA evidence found upon the body of Church was incompatible with Kraft, investigators had found photographs depicting Church in Kraft's car and his distinctive Norelco electric razor was also found in Kraft's house.

Before you read part II you ought to read Part I. Now, there are three quintessential ringleaders who were financing and overseeing operations all around the country. These ring leaders are; John Pyne, a Chicago police officer who learned about blackmail from the various criminals he arrested, Sherman Chadwick Kaminsky who was the ultimate ringleader and chief extortionist, and Elwood Lee Hammock was responsible for the legwork and day-to-day operations. At the time of the extortion ring, John J. Pyne was a member of the Chicago Police Department's Confidential Squad, which specialized with cases of extortion and other racketeering. 1 Pyne went on sick leave on and off for 2–3 years in the mid-1960s. During this period, he was accountable for providing the extortionists with forged police badges, warrants, travel money, and attorneys among other things. Furthermore, he was responsible for hunting potential high-profile targets. Essentially, he was the principal overseer of the operation and the mastermind behind the extortion ring. Sherman Chadwick Kaminsky and Elwood Lee Hammock were Pyne's chief extortionists. Once caught, they revealed the full scope of the operation and helped the FBI takedown Pyne. In an interview, Paul Brana, an FBI agent who worked on the case, spoke about the arrests. "Once that Kaminsky was arrested by me the second time, he became extensively cooperative. He was telling me about all of the extortions that he had committed in the United States." Multiple prison sentences were given to Pyne for his role. A vast majority of the targets were merely targets of opportunity. Furthermore, relatively few came forward on their own, and only a minute percentage of these individuals were inclined to file official complaints. Among the verified fatalities were New Jersey congressman Peter Frelinghuysen Jr. and Admiral William Church, as well as numerous other government figures, a renowned surgeon, and an illustrious producer in the United Kingdom. In the latter years of the 1960s corrupt law-enforcement and police impersonators known as 'Bulls' exploited young, often underage boys known as 'chickens' to extort affluent or predominate paderests all across the United States of America. Thousands of people were blackmailed by the ring over the course of over a decade, including " navy admiral, two generals, a U.S. congressman, a prominent surgeon, an Ivy League professor, a prep school headmaster, and several well-known actors, singers, and television personalities" This went on until 1966 when Manhattan DA Frank Hogan promulgated that the ring had finally been broken up, after "at least 2 million dollars had been taken." This extortion ring would be known as Chickens and the Bulls or 'Operation Homex' by agents of the FBI Usually, the ring would be comprised of small groups of chicken and bulls. The chickens were young male prostitutes who waited outside bars to be solicited, or who identified and enticed possible targets. After making contact, they'd take the target to a hotel room and put him in a compromising position while they arranged for their partners. The bulls would then charge into the room, dressed as cops and sometimes even wearing badges, and explain the consequences of breaking sodomy laws or seducing a juvenile. The extortionists then demand money, either in the form of a bribe or as "bail." to buy their silences. Alternatively, the chickens could facilely rob their targets, keeping any money and transferring the target's personal information to the extortionists, who would then decide whether or not the target was worthy of additional interaction. Those who were approached by a police impersonator, who utilized the mark's ID as proof that he had been involved in pedophilia, were told that they would be charged and arrested. The investigation of the extortion ring launched when a few scattered grievances of police impersonation and a few incognito letters. One particular arrest exposed the true scope of the ring as the NYPD section committed to organized crime activity was linking a multitude of cases. In William McGowan's article on the subject, he indited extensively: "July 1965, Detective 3rd Grade James McDonnell received a call in the upstairs squad room of midtown Manhattan's 17th Precinct. There was a man at the Western Union office in Grand Central Station who might be impersonating a police detective, he was told. The man was in the company of a 14-year-old runaway and had contacted the boy's father in Texas to wire plane fare so the son could fly home.The father had grown suspicious when the man had asked for $150—twice the needed amount." A mysterious man quickly apprised McDonnell in that Western Union office that a known criminal named John Aitken had been attempting to exploit the juveniles in a robbery conspiracy. Aitken's subsequent interrogation revealed that "he had knowledge of an extortion ring that had shaken down dozens of prominent closeted homosexual men across the country—most of them married and with families." Javed Iqbal Umayr was a Pakistani serial murderer and pederast who admitted to sexually abusing and murdering 100 boys between the ages of 6 and 16. To hide the evidence, Iqbal strangled the victims, dismember their bodies, and dissolved them in acid. Four accomplices, teenage boys who had shared Iqbal's three-bedroom flat, were arrested in Sohawa. Within days, one of them died in CIA custody, apparently by jumping from a window on the third floor of the CIA headquarters on Dec 7, 1999. And before he was to be executed in the same matter as his victims, Iqbal and his other accomplice S were found dead in their cell and had allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves with bedsheets, though there has been speculation that they were murdered. Autopsies revealed that they had been beaten prior to death.
